1. The thinning of the ozone layer, the constant change of the weather, the green gas effect, the ruining
of our oceans, floods, landslides, melting of glaciers, forest fires, are only a few of the signs of our
Mother Nature calling to us, seeking for our attention, asking: “What have you done to me? Now that
I’m like this, what will you do?”

As someone who strives to survive and longing for clean air and beautiful surroundings, in order to help
protect and conserve the environment, I will set myself as an example for all the young people by
showing and teaching them to reuse, reduce and recycle. Like, reusing the other side of used papers as a
scratch paper or notepad, reducing the use of plastic based materials and recycling things that still have
other uses. Using reusable tumblers and straws instead of buying water in plastic bottles. Using more
eco-friendly and recycled materials. Turning off faucets and electricity if no one is using. Never throwing
garbage in any body of water. Segregating wastes and planting trees. These are maybe small actions, but
for sure, will have a huge impact to the environment if more people will do it. Organizing barangay and
coastal clean-up will set an example to more people and bigger community, continues implementation
of this will also be followed by younger people. Its may be hard to do at first, and its maybe only you and
a few people doing this. But time will come that more people will be aware and more people would
follow. Taking care of our Mother Earth is not a one-time-big-time activity, it should become a way of
life, a “Lifestyle”. It’s like nurturing and caring for a little child, it should be tender and full of love so you
would still see them more in the future. It’s not only for the now, but mostly for the future. Without
Mother Earth, what would become of us?

"You shall not pollute the land in which you live, for blood pollutes the land, and no atonement can be
made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, except by the blood of the one who shed it. You shall
not defile the land in which you live, in the midst of which I dwell, for I the Lord dwell in the midst of the
people of Israel.” Numbers 35:33-34
