1. INTRODUCTION

Teamcenter Reporting and Analytics is a revolutionary solution for "Rapid-BI". It rapidly collates
and aggregates data from disparate systems in a single cube for enterprise-wide visibility leading
to Actionable Insight and knowledge.

Teamcenter Reporting and Analytics provides visibility in the form of key performance indicators
(KPIs), dashboards, detailed reports, and ad-hoc analysis/Business Intelligence over the web.
It rapidly collates and aggregates data from disparate systems in a single cube for enterprise-
wide visibility.

2. INSTALLATION

Teamcenter Reporting and Analytics requires an Application server, a Java Runtime


Environment conformant to JRE 1.8 or later and a database (Oracle or SQL Server) at the
backend.

Refer to the Teamcenter Reporting and Analytics Deployment Guide for detailed information on
supported platforms and deployment procedure.

3. NEW FEATURES / FIXES IN THIS RELEASE

- Added Japanese language support


- Provided support for Teamcenter 13.1 and Active Workspace 5.1
- Provided support for EAR99 in TcRA
- Added new connectors
o MindShere
o Agile
- Enhanced eQube-MI link to support trigger versioning

4. BEHAVIOURAL CHANGES
- No Behavioural changes on TcRA 13.1

5. KNOWN ISSUES AND BUGS

Known Bugs and Issues in Teamcenter Reporting and Analytics 13.1

- Portal cannot be created in any other language than English.


Workaround: Create the portal in English and localize in any other supported language.

- Back functionality does not work in Active workspace while navigating back to the Report
from an object in Active workspace.

- Configuring statistics on Model is not possible in current version.

- Tags do not get retained after importing model.

- After localizing Personalized view names in Japanese, if user logs in to Japanese locale &
visits Localization page back in English locale, then Personalized view names are seen in
Japanese in Localization search result table
Workaround: If user searches specified report first on Localization page in English locale ,
then Personalized view names are displayed correctly in English below report name in
Localization search table.

- For ActiveWorkspace 5.1, Icons for 'Slice', 'Refetch' and 'Find Data Insights' report
operations are not showing on AW command panel.

- Report Filters are not loading on My Dashboard if report contains a lookup filter marked as
semantic.
Workaround: Filters get loaded if user switches to snapshot tab and back to new tab.

- For snapshots generated through ActiveWorkspace "No Data found" message occurs if no
values are selected for a dependent filter and the filter on which it is dependant is a
semantic filter.
Workaround: Provide filter values for the dependent filter.

- In case of 'Deploy to multiple Teamcenters', values of base Teamcenter are getting loaded
in the lookup filter of the deployed report in all the Teamcenter for first fetch.
Workaround: Re-fetching the report will solve the problem.

- Explore data does not work in ActiveWorkspace with English locale if client and report
locale in BuildNPlay is set to Japanese.
Workaround: Changing client and report locale to English in BNP resolves this issue.

- For Specific snapshots "Exception while executing BI Storm topology" error is seen on cube
grid & Tile widget.
Workaround:
1. Goto Admin console->Server Configuration->Properties->General properties-
>Change the flag of "Enable Indexing on Snapshot" from True to False.
2. Goto BuildNPlay ->Retrieve the snapshot->Click Save to resave the snapshot.
3. Goto Admin console->Server Configuration->Properties->General properties-
>Change the flag of "Enable Indexing on Snapshot" from False to True.
4. Got to BuildNPlay->Again retrieve the snapshot.

- Error is seen in cubegrid/chart if derived dimension created using measure of BIGNUMBER


datatype is dropped > User needs to change datatype , for bignumber same case will not
work.
No workaround.

- If used date derived hierarchy is edited and Generate series is enabled for it, error gets
displayed on the cube grid
Workaround: If user saves only report and enable Generate series, error should not be
displayed. If snapshot is saved on the report and user enabled generate series option, then
only error is getting displayed.

- If cube grid title having variable expression and schedule this report, An error is seen on the
cube grid in the scheduler and analysis task send mail files

No workaround

- On analysed snapshot #value is seen for variables after performing page switch action.
No Workaround.

- Smart cache> When cache is saved in first go with crawling enabled , schema entries of
crawler ( workspace object, Iman relation and fnd0workflowaudit )are not getting
created.
Workaround: Click on submit button again of created cache / Save cache first without
enabling crawling and then give crawling details.

- In Filter UI, With or without Exclude option for date lookup output shows same number of
records.
Workaround: User can use any other UI type than Date- Series

- If report is having tile variable and report is localized then user is not able to resave same
report, loading is observed on UI.
Workaround: Restart the context

- When user hide empty measures from QAT, Applies auto filter and search any text in
search box then 'Error while iterating datacube' Exception seen on Cubegrid .
No Workaround.

- For smart Cache, schema does not show the objects which are present in cube when cubes
are imported before model is created for connection.
Workaround: Cubes should be imported/Created after Connection model is created.

- When user clicks on Show associated schema button of smart cache, schemas for all
caches are visible.
Workaround: Use filters for checking schema of particular cache.

- Smart cache plugin > Restart is required if user changes metadata connection of cache.
Workaround: User needs to restart context if smart cache plugin metadata is changed.

- Oracle DB Caching -> No Data Found is seen when object is fetched in filter in CIAS mode
with different letter case than present in TC (Cube is first fetched in Application/Hybrid mode
with same filter)
Workaround: Data should be fetched by providing case sensitive values for filter for CIAS
mode for oracle caching

- Load Balancer setup>"Smart Cache is not initialized properly." message is seen on other
node except where cache metadata connection is created.
Workaround: Restart the nodes.

- Connections will be in failed state after upgrade of multi class loader database.
Workaround: Edit the connections from AdminConsole to populate the correct instance
name for the connections and save it.

- For Smart cache plugin >User is unable to fetch cube by enabling/disabling caching flag
when metadata for cache is down.
No Workaround

- Fetch cube by enabling caching flag> 'cacheContext' cannot be null error is shown on UI
when cache connection is down.
No Workaround

- Oracle DB Caching -> No Data Found is seen when object is fetched in filter in CIAS mode
with different letter case than present in TC (Cube is first fetched in Application/Hybrid mode
with same filter)
Workaround: Data should be fetched by providing case sensitive values for filter for CIAS
mode for oracle caching

- Traditional Report pdf output is getting failed for EQUBEOBJECTTAG, when it is used on
caption level of datatable
Workaround: User can add EQUBEOBJECTTAG formula measure on grand total row
instead on caption row

- "Exception occurred while performing the action." is seen on License Information and
Instance Licenses page when server is started up on Failover License
Workaround: In failover mode license information will not be displayed, this is by design

- Auto filter applied on cube grid gets reset when the widget is moved from container to report
canvas or vice versa.
Workaround: After changing auto filter value to some other value it works

- Time Series >> Adding slice on derived dimension(with MM/dd/yyyy format, any
month/date/year format) throws error with generate series selected.
Workaround: User can create a formula copying the join date dimension, set its evaluation
sequence to after aggregation and apply a slice on that formula

- TcRA 13.1 Could not be installed using Deployment Center 3.2, if Teamcenter is not
installed.
Workaround: Use Deployment Center 3.1 or Standalone TcRA installer.

- Network graph chart in a report is not supported to be exported/Shared in any file Format
(PDF, EXCEL, HTML, Print, Embedded, POWERPOINT)

- JT files are not getting downloaded on context migrated from TcRA 12.1.2 to TcRA 13.1 (No
workaround)

- When user copies/cuts and pastes the tile widget expression , the format does not get
copied
Workaround: Change the format from tile's summary expression editor window

- Multiple issues are observed if grouping is present on cube grid and dimension is on column
edge
Workaround: Keep dimension on row edge if grouping is to be performed

- Variations in old versions will now be considered as pages. After migration, for the
variations that are placed on a report (dashboard), slice elements targets will have to be set
again, however the user can continue to enter text in the cell.
- Events on Datatable are not supported

- Scheduled task created on 'Variations' cannot be imported


Workaround: Save as a new report with modified options

- Date, date-time filters applied in filter variations on scheduled tasks are not retained if
scheduled tasks are imported from versions prior to TCRA11.2.x

- 'Save Series Color' is not retained when report is imported from previous version. It needs
to be applied again after import. This is specific to reports imported from Pre TcRA-11.x
version

- In previous versions, background color of dimension is used as one of the colors for
alternate row color in the cube grid. This will not be retained in imported reports.

- Import of Analyzed Snapshot is not supported for reports created Pre TcRA-11.0.

- During import, if base report is a Template or Redefinable Template and Variation is


Snapshot, then import will not work
Workaround: Import the reports from BuildNPlay

- JSP widgets might not work in Active workspace and Sharedpoint portal when TcRA is
deployed in clustered mode.
Workaround: You need to add the load balancer URL in Client and Host Application
Domains under the UI security settings in AdminConsole to make it work

- Snapshot does not get saved (until user visits all pages) when cube is modified from
mapper
Workaround: Visit every page of snapshot and then save. Snapshot should get saved
successfully

- User who does not have refine action role is not able to import any cube
Workaround: Give refine operation to user who wants to import cube

- If Top Level is added from Cube Panel into existing hierarchy and same hierarchy is used in
Datatable - Displays error in Datatable
Workaround: Need to delete top level from hierarchy and then insert new row in data table
and that new row can act as top level in data table

- Snapshot containing datatable and dimension dropped in that datatable will not work after
upgrading to TcRA 11.5. It will not show the value of dropped dimension.
Workaround: Drop dimension on table and close the accordian, delete the dropped
dimension by opening the accordian again. Re-Save the snapshot

- Distortion is seen in workspace area of Cube tab after performing certain actions on Cube
specific to IE 11 and Windows 10

- Traditional Report: Grand total row measure value added inside data table is not displayed
in run mode
Workaround: User can increase the data table cell height in edit mode to see the
bottom/grand total row part

- If Row span is applied in Datatable row, it is not getting exported correctly in exported
ppt/pptx
Workaround: Remove row span of Datatable by splitting its cells and then perform Export
to PPT

- When chart is exported to the pdf with invert font color is on, series labels seen shifted to
either left or to the right from their original position
Workaround: Disable invert font color

- 'Save Series Color' is not retained when report is imported from previous version. It needs
to be applied again after import.

- Multiple issues are observed if grouping is present on cube grid and dimension is on column
edge
Workaround: Keep dimension on row edge if grouping is to be performed

- User who does not have 'REFINE' operation is not able to save cube after editing properties
from mapper
Workaround: Give refine operation to user who wants to edit and save cube

- If descending sort is applied on dimension and when generate series is on, then on re-sizing
Chart or switching to maximize mode, entire data is not seen on chart
Workaround: Switch the page or click on re-fetch icon for filters

- Localization > Crawl data > Data is not shown as per locale language

- Incorrect custom integration link is getting applied for imported snapshot containing
datatable in it
Workaround: Switch to edit mode of datatable and return back to run mode and save the
snapshot

- If the data type of rollup applied on string or date measure is not same as that of the base
Measure, then exception is seen, and applied marking gets removed
Workaround: Use numeric rollups on numeric measure and not on string or date measure

- Data safeguarding -> Exception is seen & marking gets removed after applying number of
children/leaf level count rollup on string/date measure (DS rule is still satisfied)

- Data Safeguarding Rule does not re-evaluate immediately when cube grid values are edited
using editable cell
Workaround: Save snapshot and retrieve it again for the changes to get reflected

6. MIGRATION TO THIS VERSION

Migration steps from prior Teamcenter Reporting and Analytics versions to Teamcenter
Reporting and Analytics 13.1 are given below
-Create a fresh installation of Teamcenter Reporting and Analytics 13.1

-Export Cubes, definitions and snapshots from prior Teamcenter Reporting and Analytics version
and import them in Teamcenter Reporting and Analytics 13.1

-From TcRA 12.1.2 onwards, ‘FILES’ feature is required in the license file for Excel connections
and Excel Reporting.

Note - While upgrading TcRA to multi-class loader environment, it is Metadata and WAR should
be upgraded simultaneously.

You can migrate to TcRA13.1 from any of these versions:

7. SUPPORT CENTER / GLOBAL TECHNICAL ACCESS CENTER (GTAC)

Support Center is the vehicle for Teamcenter communication. It provides a single repository of
current, accurate, version controlled Teamcenter information that is accessible through the
Internet by authorized users. Maintained within Support Center is a wealth of information for the
diverse mix of customers and employees in the Teamcenter community.

Information in Support Center includes, but is not limited to, the following:

● Certification announcements and bulletins

● Frequently asked questions

● Product defect reports

● Enhancement requests

● Patches

● Shareware customizations

● Tips pertaining to Teamcenter customization, performance, and administration

● Product information, customer success stories, and user conference presentations

8. END OF STANDARD MAINTENANCE (EoSM) POLICY

See: SFB-TEAMCENTER-8007006

The Lifecycle Collaboration Software (LCS) business segment is implementing a 2 year End of
Standard Maintenance (EoSM) policy for the Teamcenter Platform and Teamcenter Applications.

This means that patches will only be provided for a given Teamcenter release during the 2 years
following its release date.

Customers using a Teamcenter release that has passed its EoSM date are able to receive GTAC
support and have rights to upgrade to future releases, provided that they are under a current
Maintenance, Enhancement, and Support (ME&S) contract.

Definitions:

Standard ME&S:

Siemens provides full ME&S, giving customers the right to maintenance releases and
patches, upgrades to new releases, and GTAC support

End of Standard ME&S (EoSM):

Date when Siemens no longer provides maintenance releases and patches for the given
software release.
Customers may still upgrade to new releases and access GTAC support
Issues may be submitted but are evaluated against the latest software release. Any
required corrections are delivered within a software release under Standard ME&S or a
future release

Effectivity:

This policy applies to Major (e.g. 12) and Point releases (12.1, 12.2, etc) and is in effect for all
Teamcenter product releases from 11.3 onward and includes equivalent Active Workspace
product releases.
