In many cases, the specific torque values are given in the job-specific Instruction
Manual for each fastener required for compressor cylinder bolting. If the specific torque
value is not given, then use the information in the following tables. Determine the
application and fastener prestress level, and then apply the torque values listed in the
Standard Torque Table.
Note: Always refer to the specific cylinder instructions for your particular unit first for
torqueing requirements; these torque values take precedence over the torques listed in the
manual. If the cylinder instructions are not available, you can use the torques listed within
this manual.

The torque values are based on a common petroleum type oil lubricant.
The torque values are applicable to both National Fine and National Course
thread series. Any difference in the torque values because of the thread
series is within the normal variation of the torque wrench accuracy.
