Sentry Range of UL Approved: Automatic Battery Chargers

The document describes the Sentry range of automatic battery chargers from Computronic Controls Ltd. The chargers provide constant current charging of vented lead acid or NiCd batteries at currents of 3, 5, or 7 amps for 12V or 24V systems. They maintain the battery at a calibrated float voltage and can operate in a boost mode for increased voltage. Optional features include a charge fail alarm and manual boost selection. The chargers are UL approved and have proven reliability for standby power applications worldwide.

Description
The Sentry range provides automatic, current Product Specification
limited and thyristor controlled charging of vented
lead acid or NiCd batteries. The units may be used Power Supply:
in a wide range of industrial charging applications,
including standby engines, pumps and generators. Nominal Operating Voltages 110-120 V,AC (115V Units)
Each unit consists of a transformer, rectifier and
control circuit. The control circuit ensures that the
charger maintains the battery voltage at the pre- Permissible Voltage Variation ± 6% of nominal

When used as a float charger the unit is designed
to give a constant current output up to its knee

Boost option Charge Fail Output:
A 'boost' mode of operation provides increased
voltage output. Selection of boost mode is a link via Relay Type volt free SPDT contacts
two terminals, allowing activation by a time delay relay energized on fault
