Section 1- Update LinkedIn Summary

Student Instructions: Update the ‘Summary’ section of your LinkedIn profile by listing your generic
business skills and current professional skills, and the level of responsibility as defined by the SFIA
framework. Your claims towards skills should be supported through description of previous work,
life experience or other references relevant to claims. ‘Copy’ and ‘Paste’ your updated LinkedIn
Summary in the table below:

LinkedIn Summary

I have completed my master in information technology from Charles Sturt University in 2019. I am doing my
professional year course to improve my IT skills. This is my first week of internship in which I am working as
an IT help desk and it is going very interesting, am getting new chances every day to learn something. With a
comprehensive knowledge of computer, programming, system analysis and project management developed
through studies and academic projects. With the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and solve
technical problems efficiently. While working I gained skills of effective communication, sense of urgency,
leadership, and problem-solving.
Highlighted are the Core Competencies at SFIA Level 3:

assignments. Usually receives specific instructions and has work reviewed at frequent milestones. Determines

Section 2- Job Advertisement
Student Instructions: You should find a job advertisement you are interested in and which you
believe your skill set is suited. The advertisement should be copied directly and entirely from an
open source such as SEEK.COM, INDEED.COM, or JORA etc. and not be more than three months
old. ‘Copy’ and ‘Paste’ your selected job advertisement in the table below:

Your role as IT Service Desk Analyst will be responsible for resolving IT related issues, faced by employees in both
our stores and corporate head office. Supporting both David Jones and the Country Road Group, you will work in a
collaborative team to provide fast and effective services to a range of stakeholders, ensuring that our business can
operate at an optimal level. If you are a University student and/or recent graduate, or someone with experience in a
similar role, we want to hear from you!

 Note: We have both weekend casual roles and Permanent Full-Time opportunities available.

What does the role involve?

 Deliver high quality and responsive customer service to all IT users


 Problem solving technical issues and escalating issues when necessary
 Open and close cases and document updates to case notes
 Collaborate with your team and provide insights into opportunities for process improvement
 Provide support on relevant projects when necessary

The Ideal Candidate will have:

 Demonstrated experience in a role involving customer service


 Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
 Strong understanding of Microsoft Office
 Experience within Retail environment beneficial, but not essential
 Current student and/or recent graduate of a relevant degree beneficial, but not essential

Student Instructions: In this SFIA assessment ‘Job analysis table’ below, you need to show all the
artefacts/fields required for your selected job. These need to include the following:

 The task is broken out into two tables: (1) Generic Skills (2) Professional Skills
 Determine the job advertisement’s SFIA skill level in in Column 2
 Identify your self-assessed SFIA skill level in Column 3
 Analyse your skills gap in Column 4 (below, meets, or exceeds)
 Address the skills gap with a plan to meet the gap or demonstrate how you meet or exceed
