    PURPOSE
    To ensure the proper handling, removal and disposal of used oil.
    SCOPE
    This procedure is applicable to Kwekwe Maltings.
    RESPONSIBILITIES
    The Plant Engineer is responsible for the overall implementation of this procedure .
    DEFINITIONS- Nil

    ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
    SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
    All handlers of used oil to put on full protective clothing to cover the body in case of spills onto body
    (i.e. including aprons, closed boots and PVC gloves)
    ACTIVITY RESPONSIBLE ACCOUNTABLE
    1. The type, quantities, and are of use of oil withdrawn from stores are Artisan Mechanical
    recorded in the oil withdrawal book Supervisor
    2 Details of the equipment where the used oil originated, the quantities Artisan Mechanical
    recovered including the intended use are recorded in the oil disposal book. Supervisor
    3 Vehicle inspection for oil leakages are done by security guards and vehicle oil Security Guard Quality Control

    4 .Incoming trucks leaking fuel or oil shall turned away Security Guard Quality Control
    Note-: No oil is decanted into any drain or waste bin Manager
    5 Plant checks are carried out to identify oil leaks from plant and equipment Process Manager/ Plant Manager

    Maintenance Officer
    6 Drip trays are used to collect leaking oil to prevent it from contaminating the Mechanical Plant Engineer
    product and the environment Supervisor
    7 All transformer oil to be separately collected , purified and reused Electrical Supervisor Plant Engineer

    8 Oil collected from maintenance to be stored for disposal. Mechanical Plant Engineer
