What is Function?

.Function is a Relation Between Two Variables (x,y)


e.g y=x2+1 where x is independent variable and y is dependent variable.
Definition
The relation in which for each value of x there exist a unique value of y.
For Example
y=x2+1
Put x=0 (Because x is independent variable)
y=(0)2+1 , y=1 (which is a unique Answer)
Real Number
The type of number we normally use, such as 1, 15.82, −0.1, 3/4, etc. Positive or negative,
large or small, whole numbers or decimal numbers are all Real Numbers. They are called
"Real Numbers" because they are not Imaginary Numbers. Except (-∞ ∞).

Linear equation
Any equation that can be written in the form of ax+b=0 and power of variable x
is one.
Quadratic equation
Any equation that can be written in the form of ax2+b=0 and the power of variable x
is 2.
Cubic equation
Any equation that can be written in the form of ax3+b=0 and the power of variable x is 3.
What is domain?
The value of independent variable x in which the given function is definite.
What is range?
The value of dependent variable y is called range..

Domain of Linear function= All real numbers.


Range of linear Function= All real number

Domain of a/x function=All real number - {0}


Range of a/x function =All real number -{0}

Domain of 5/x+1=All real number - {-1}


Range of 5/x+1=All real number - {0}

Domain of a/ax+b=All real number - {-b/a}


Range of a/ax+b=All real number - {0}

Domain of 2/3x+5=All real number - {-5/3) (tricky method)


Range of 2/3x+5=All real number - {0}

If the function is Linear/Linear


Like as ax+b/cx+d
Domain=All real number - {-d/c} (Tricky method)
Range=All real number -{a/c} (where a is coefficient of x in numerator and c is a coefficient
of x in denominator)

F(x)=5x+3/3x-8 find domain and range?

If the function is in mod like as |x-1|


Domain=All real number
Range =All positive real number
