New Ryanair Cadet Scheme FAQs

I have already signed a McGinley contract what should I do?

If you wish to stay on a McGinley contract you are free to so however the bonded option wouldn’t
be available to you.

What happens if I want to cancel the contract with McGinley and avail of the new Cadet scheme?

McGinley will rescind the contract and you will have to cancel your Irish LTD.

What contract will I get upon completion of Ground School & will I be paid during training?

You will get a Ryanair contract for the duration of 6 months and you will be paid during training from
the day you pass your base training. For the duration of this 6-month fixed term training contract
you will be paid at a basic gross annual salary of £21,000 (Twenty-One Thousand Pounds). Training
pay will accrue from day to day and is paid monthly in arrears into your bank account on the 28th day
of each month. Salary payments will begin from the Commencement Date and will cease on the
termination of this training contract.

You will also be entitled to receive flight expenses from the 1st of the month following your Safety Pilot
release in the form of Sector pay at the rate of £16.04 per Scheduled Block Hour (SBH). Flight expenses
will not be paid in circumstances where you are unavailable to fly, irrespective of the reasons provided
by you to the Company. An allowance for Pilot’s meals, drink and uniform upkeep is incorporated in
Flight Expenses. It is therefore your responsibility to provide your own sustenance whilst on duty.
Please note the above SBH rate only applies to your training contract.

What happens after I successfully complete the training and what contract will I get?

Upon successfully completing the training you will be offered a Ryanair or an employment agency
contract. The salary will be the same with both contracts.

Will I be on a reduced salary with the Bond option?

No, you won’t be on a reduced salary.

How does the bond work?

It is a reducing bond of 5 years. You actually do not pay anything unless you decide to leave.

In first year of employment €25,000
Between 1 -2 years of commencement date €20,000

Will the above salaries be different if I don’t get a Ryanair contract at the end of the training?

No the salary will be exactly the same as it would be on a Ryanair contract.

I have already paid the full amount of the Type Rating to CAE however I have now decided that
the bond option suits me better. What should I do?

If you would like to get a refund and go on the new deal please get in touch with me and we will
discuss the option of a refund.

I want to pay the full amount of the Type Rating upfront is that still an option?

Yes it is still an option however the self-employed model will no longer be available as McGinley will
not issue any new contracts.
Why should I sign up to the new scheme?

You should sign up because the new sponsored cadet programme will offer you the opportunity to
join Ryanair without the worry and financial commitment of funding a Type Rating. We have listened
to Cadets who have already invested a lot of money in their training and we want to ensure that the
Cadet Programme is open to all applicants, regardless of their financial situation.

Next Steps?

If you are interested in this opportunity please respond to this email indicating your course number
in the subject line. Please state whether you would like to be BONDED or SELF-SPONSORED.

Please kindly inform us whether you would like to keep your McGinley contract however be aware
that the bond option will not be available to you. We would also kindly ask you to reply to this
email as soon as possible.
