Geolog Image To Techlog - 6851383 - 01

The document provides instructions for displaying and dip picking Geolog processed images in Techlog. It describes moving hole azimuth and deviation data into the image dataset, running a Python script to extract and merge image arrays into pads and flaps, extracting radius data, and using the Pad Concatenation and Orientation tool to properly display the image logs.

Workflow summary
Techlog can import processed image of Geolog. The gaps between the image pads/ flaps can not
be displayed because the hole azimuth & deviation are located in a different dataset and the
radius/caliper has a different format to Techlog.
This workflow will help you to do pad concatenation and orientation in order to display and do dip
picking in Techlog.
1. Move hole azimuth and deviation (DEVI & HAZI) into the dataset of image (FMIPROC)
2. Run python script to extract image array and merge them into pads and flaps by order
preference
3. Extract radius array to variables
4. Run “ Pad concatenation and Orientation” in WBI > processing
1. Move hole azimuth and deviation into the dataset of image
• Drag and drop hole deviation and azimuth variables ((DEVI & HAZI) ) to image dataset
(FMIPROC) > this step will open the resampling tool.
• Enter the sampling rate if needed in “ Resampling tool” window
2. Run python script to extract image array and merge them into
pads and flaps by order preference
• Utility > Python > Python explorer > Techlog> Techdata > Data manipulation
>SplitAnArrayToSeveralSmallArrays
• Type well name, dataset name, variable ( IMAGE_STATIC, IMAGE_DYNAMIC, IMAGE_RAW)
• Type the div=8 because FMI tool require 8 pads and flaps
3. Extract radius array to variables
• Right mouse click on “ RADII_IMG” and select “Column extraction”
• Change the RADII_IMG_1 to “ Radius Pad 1 “ and RADII_IMG_2 to “ Radius Pad 2” family.
(Diameter family)
4. Run “ Pad concatenation and Orientation” in WBI >
processing
• Launch WBI > Processing > Pad concatenation and Orientation
Fill the “ 4*FMI_8 Borehole Pad ” as odds and “ 4*FMI_8 Borehole Flap” as evens
• Select image orientation as North or Top of Hole
• Repeat your work for all of the image in the dataset
