Task Dependencies
The primary task dependencies in this project are the materials being purchased and
created on time, since these materials are needed to be able to set up for the party on the 21st.
Mom needs to factor in time to be able to purchase all supplies from multiple stores by the
deadline, and Mali needs to allow herself time to create the sign and try again if she makes a
mistake that she can’t correct on the first try. We also need to have Mali agree to the color
scheme, food, and drinks before we begin the process, because it will cost time to purchase new
materials and to recreate the banner if she decides to change her mind at any point during the
process.
If I were to create a schedule based on the Critical Path Method, I would mark the

party materials before the event because Katelyn and Dad need time to assess where each station,
cooler, and tray will go in order to set up for the party. Since the stations, refreshments, and
decorations are what transform our house into a celebration venue, the set-up task is critical to
have done before the guests arrive, as this also places less pressure on Mali and allows all team
