Q-What “rumors” are spread about the windmill?


A-It is rumored that the windmill’s walls were too thin, which is why it was
knocked over during the windstorm.

Q-How is the new windmill constructed differently?


A-The new windmill has walls that are three feet thick.

Q-What happens when Mr. Whymper comes to visit?


A-Whenever Mr. Whymper comes to visit, the animals are instructed to
loudly lie about ration increases, and the empty barrels of food are made to
appear full.

Q-Why do the hens rebel?


A-The hens rebel because Napoleon announces that he will be selling their
eggs.

Q-Why do the hens relent?


A-The hens relent after Napoleon stops their rations and nine hens die.

Q-What does Squealer announce about the Battle of Cowshed?


A-Squealer announces that Snowball was actually in league with Mr. Jones
during the Battle of Cowshed.

A-During the meeting, several animals come forward and confess to
traitorous acts, for which they are then executed.

A-When the dogs attack Boxer, he easily defends himself and pins one of

A- The animals have begun to forget what life was like under Mr. Jones, so
they have no way of knowing whether things have really improved.

A- The animals have heard terrible rumors about how cruel and abusive Mr.
Frederick is to his animals.

A- The animals are too depressed by the loss of the windmill and their own
heavy casualties to feel excited about their victory in battle.

A- Though the pigs think he is dying, Napoleon is really just hungover.

A- The animals are woken up by a crash and then find Squealer sprawled on
the ground near the barn wall with a ladder and a can of paint.

Q-What happened in Chapter 7 in Animal Farm?
A-During a meeting, he sends his dogs after the four pigs who question his trade plans, the
hens that have rebelled over the eggs, and a few other animals who confess to working with
Snowball. All of these animals are executed immediately. This violence stuns the other
animals, especially Clover.

Q-What happens in Chapter 8 of Animal Farm?


A-Men from Frederick's farm attack Animal Farm with weapons. The animals retreat until
the men blow up Napoleon Mill. The animals are so enraged that they charge at the men
and drive them off the farm. After two days of celebration, the pigs open a case of whiskey
and drink until they are sick.

Q-Who attacks Animal Farm in Chapter 8?


A-Three days later, Mr. Whymper arrives with horrible news: the banknotes are forgeries.
Napoleon immediately sentences Mr. Frederick to death and warns that Pinchfield
might attack Animal Farm.

Q-How does the reader learn that the pigs know the windmill was destroyed in the
storm?
A-The reader knows that the pigs realize they made a mistake in building
the windmill's walls too thin because when they rebuild it they make the walls thicker. The
humans do not believe that Snowball vandalized the windmill. They suggest
the windmill was poorly designed, and would never work.

Q- How many animals did Napoleon kill in Animal Farm?


A- Napoleon killed all the animals that confessed to conspiring against him and also for
having committed a minor offense against the farm in general. Four pigs confessed to
conspiring with Snowball and were killed by the dogs.

Q-Which two animals have not yet lost heart?


A-Only Boxer and Clover never lost heart. Squealer made excellent speeches on the joy of
service and the dignity of labour, but the other animals found more inspiration in Boxer's
strength and his never-failing cry of "I will work harder!"

A-Why do you think the dogs attack Boxer ? Because he had defended Snowball and said
he did not believe that he was a traitor.

A-Napoleon was selling all of their assets to get money for food (beacause of the failed
harvest) to feed the animals

A-Napoleon and Sqealer have together convinced the animals that snowball had been in with
the humans and against the animals from the start

A-He wanted to keep them in fear to stop any rebellion against him

A-He said "it must have been due to some fault in ourselves" his solution was to work harder

A-they were mourning lost comrades and thinking that life on the farm was not as they had
hoped for

A-Napoleon said that it was no longer needed because the revolution was over but it was
actually because it might remind them of the idea of revolution

A-He has titles like "our leader, comrade Napoleon" he lived in desperate quarters in the
house he was not seen in public often and had guards to protect him and had ceremonies for
the celebration of his birthday
