1.1 Introduction
These instructions describe the start-up routine of a MCS220-C / Gen2 elevator with TCBC
and WWOVF.
Because the TCBC is used for different elevators, not all systems can be taken into
consideration for this start-up routine. For the start-up of further subsystems, refer to the
corresponding installation instructions.
Further documents (FCM) are necessary for the start-up of the other components of OTIS
MCS220-C / GeN 2
Drive:
WWOVF with MCB_III

1.1.21.2.2 Electrical connections and components
The installation of the power supply cables, the motor cables, the main inputs, the brake
cables, the safety equipment (hoistway and car) and their wiring have to be completed.
The wiring, coming in the controller from all other components, have been plugged or
connected.
The main switch is switched off.

Insulation Check:
The connection of HL1 to PE or HL2 to PE has to be removed and the resistance values
have to be checked with a multimeter.
a) from PE to HL1 >1MOhm
b) from PE to HL2 >1MOhm
c) from PE to main terminals L1, L2, L3 in the controller >1MOhm
d) from PE to motor terminals 1U, 1V, 1W in the controller >1MOhm

If the measured voltage values PY1 (1-5) and PY2 (1-6) differ from the values stated in the
table above, check the cable positioning from the main transformer TRF1 to the TCBC
(refer to wiring diagram).
The plugs of the Remote Serial Link P101C and P1H on TCBC have to be disconnected to
avoid damage to Remote Stations!
Check the voltage supplies of the Remote Serial Link (RSL),
Car link, VRS_Car on Plug P101C 33VDC 10%,
Hall link, VRS_HWY on Plug P1H 33VDC 10%.
(Important notice: never measure directly with the meter probe the Wago receptacles! This
will damage the receptacles. Use an empty plug or special Wago testplugs.)
Note:
If after switching on the main switch, the status of the LED indication differs from the status
listed in the table, check the circuits of the corresponding LEDs.
Check:
ONLY CONTINUE WITH THE NEXT STEP IF STEP 1.3 HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY
CONCLUDED!
ATTENTION!
Before comparing or changing the parameters, check if the software number (refer to label
ERPOM) of your elevator corresponds with the software number of the description.
1.5.1 Checking of Installation parameters
The below mentioned sequences are only valid inside the TCBC menu. The TCBC menu
can be selected from the system level menu in 2 ways.
With the SVT sequence M–1–3–1 you will obtain the following installation parameter menu
in which the group to be checked can be selected.
INSTALL – Menu > SERVICE – Parameter for SDI and BRE – Adjustment
07 Service . M–1–3–1–7
To be able to choose the corresponding group, either the equivalent number can be chosen
(except for 10 = Test-parameters) or confirmed with ENTER if the display shows the
parameter group.

To enter a new parameter or to alter the parameter, choose the corresponding parameter
and enter the new number. Confirm the entry with ENTER.
For incorrect entries you can delete the respective last digit with CLEAR.

To alter the assignment, the entire second line must always be entered without the landing.
With GO ON you go to the next landing, with GO BACK to previous the landing.
If the switch is activated, the calls entered in the 2nd Allowed Mask will be locked.
The column Op is always active.

U - Up direction calls
D - Down direction calls
E - Express priority calls
1 - These calls are locked if the input of the RS which is assigned with the function e.g.
CCOC is activated (low active).
0 - means, that e.g. the CCOC function has no influence on these calls.
The card reader function can only be used for car calls.
Note:
Further information can be found in the chapter:
"Software Installation Parameters", section "Security, Parameter EN-CRO" and “Service
Tool Manual”
0 - means that these calls can only be activated with a magnet card.
1 - means that the chip card reader has no influence on these calls.
With GO ON you switch to the next landing, with GO BACK to the previous landing.

R - RS answers, Hardware OK; r - RS does not answer
000 data transmission OK; 001-999 data transmission faulty (parity error)
NOTE:
After the test, the SVT shows the first faulty RS. With GO ON you can go to higher
addresses.
Parity error means that multiple RS with the same address exist in the system.
Before the next step of start up of TCBC can be performed, the drive has
to be adjusted to run in inspection mode.
g) Enter the SVT sequence: M–1–3–1–5 GO ON and go to the group DOORS in the Install
Menu. Scroll the parameters by pressing GOON.
h) Start DCS RUN with the SVT sequence M–1–3–5 (refer to next page).
i) If the software detects a failure of a hoistway door contact, the car stops on this floor and
is locked. An error message is shown: Check in this case:
- The hoistway door contact DS and its connection to the hoistway wiring.
- The position of the DZ-magnets and the function of the LV-magnet switches.
- The function of the DOL-switch (The software checks during the DCS-Check the DW-
input behind the hoistway doors in that moment, when the DOL-switch is activated by a
completely opened car door).
- After eliminating all errors, the car has to be moved to the bottom landing first and the
DCS RUN has to be started once again.
If the DCS-Test has been carried out successfully, a message is displayed; press GO ON
three times and the elevator is in NORMAL OPERATION.
