Proposed Name of the Business

Crunchy Grub

The Crunchy Grub is composed of different

pleasantly crisp products. The first-line product is called

Pep & Cheese Roll where the crunchie came from. Crunchy is

making a sharp noise when bitten and the entrepreneurs want

the customers to feel that it’s newly cooked and eating it

careless in a worthwhile way is totally on the list. Grub is

to masticate or chew and digest food to please the hunger

that dwells within. Seeing that it’s very fine and

convenient snack stall for every discomfort, it is a name

with workmanship. And for the working entrepreneurs, Crunchy

Grub is a proposed business with impression and value.

The logo of this product has upper case letters of the

said business name in order to be visible in customer’s eyes

so that it can easily determine. The yellow background and

the pepperoni signify as the ingredients of the product

which is the pepperoni itself and cheese. Then the figure on

the left side is the finished product which is the pepperoni

cheese roll. Lastly, the crown at the upper side tells that

the Crunchy Grub will serve an affordable and delicious

snack that will capture the heart of the customers.

sense its real tang by eating it. The Rolling process is the

glue that holds the ingredients together. Taste it to savor

the feeling. Savor both food and the company of each other

not just for the customers but for makers. It’s like

enjoying the art of food and contemplating its tiny specks

of spices. Roll it till you taste it is a trademark which

will give a smile that could light up a whole room with its

flavors. A ride to everyone’s upcoming story. Rolling it is

also one of the process on finishing the product and that is

the best way to describe how the Crunchy Grub will hooked up

the customers not only because of the crunchiness and taste

of the product.

The owner of the business decided to establish the new

business in Mabini Extension, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija,

near Wesleyan University-Philippines, in front of G-

Residences Commercial Building. Since one of their target

market are students who are open to try new products and

taste of food. The place is convenient for the business

because it can easily access people.

Name of the Owners


Kristine Arayan, an aspiring entrepreneur, who will be

the handler of this business and also the discoverer of the

product. This business is a partnership which is composed of

two or more people to be considered as a partner. This

business is planned due to Kristine’ passion and interest

together with her partners Jasel Cyra Alvaran, Gerome

Pagdanganan, Joanna Mae Ramos, Leilani Dela Cruz, Anne

Winzette Nieto, Daine Cehl Parumog and Nicole Sta. Cruz

Cooking and producing a variety of food is Kristine’s

interest of. She is fond of making new variety of snacks.

She likes to experiment and mix on ingredients that she

thinks will match each other’s flavour. On her mother’s

birthday, she plans to serve their visitor and family her

newly made concept of snack. She was surprised when Pep and

Cheese Roll made a mark on her family’s heart and mind. And

on that day, Pep and Cheese Roll made a next big step in her

life.

As the time passed by, Kristine decided to make this as

her business together with her friends who are also her
partners in the business. They taste the Pep and Cheese Roll

together and decided to establish a business named Crunchy

Grub which is expected to have a good result when it was

already sold to the public with affordable cost.

The Partnership decided to give equal contribution,

The owners assemble the business to execute direct

selling to customers.

The suppliers are situated at the Public Market of

Cabanatuan City and is the one who provides raw materials or

goods that will be used in the process of making the

product. As a manufacturer, the business will convert the

goods into finished products which will be directly sold to

the customers.

Since Crunchy Grub is a new business, it is in process

of learning on the how to effectively and efficiently manage

goods. After it become successful it will immediately look

forward in finding other distribution channel.

Size of the Proposed Business

The Crunchy Grub will be a micro enterprise which will

employ fewer than 10 people and will have a total asset


under P3 million. One of the micro enterprise’s

classifications of business is food stall, which will be

established to start the business.

Future Parties and Future Plans

A business will only make a huge progress if strategies

are being implemented. As it grows the market increases,

same goes by the product as the business grows new formula,

variations, innovations start to catch up. It won’t remain

as it is. It is more like taking care of a plant, plants

need sunlight and water to grow. In business it will only

start to grow if things are given much enough care, business

comes with a lot of plans, strategies and other innovative

ideas to cultivate.

For a store like this, there are specific categories of

people concerned, including customers and competitors. It

has specific function and contribution for the success of

the business.

The target customers are generally the students since it

is located near campuses. Students love to eat different

variations of foods like street foods. Time goes by, people

starting to explore more type of foods other than fries and

on-stick food. Underrated snack like this in Crunchy Grub

will be benefited in its taste.


Existing competitors will be the challenge to venture

out, process more ideas and substantially innovate specific

add-ons. Opportunities in every business must go beyond the

prior commitment of certain goal. The possible competitors

in Cabanatuan City will be the Potato Corner and etc.

As for the future plans, the Crunchy Grub intends to

expand and branch out along the campuses in the vicinity of

Cabanatuan City. New variations and new flavors will

automatically be added. Crunchy Grab will create

partnerships with local food stalls/restaurant. The owner

will have a Partnership Contract with Fries Pa More.

I. ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS

Socio Cultural

Socio-Cultural Environment is one of the forces that

affect a societyʼs basic values, perceptions and usually

influence the welfare of the business. It incorporates

social and cultural aspects that control the behavior of

both the business and people. Demographics and cultural

influences are the factors of changing business structures

and status. Demographic includes ethnic backgrounds &

religious beliefs which is almost 86% of the Philippine

population are Christians that affect their decision-making

process on how they will choose what they want to buy.


Social classes states what their preferences are whether

they are middle or high class, they can purchase the

businessʼ product. Occupations which determines what kind of

goods and services they need, this business ain’t looking

for perfect customers. Based from age, races and nationality

like the Filipinos behind the countryʼs goods and services,

there’s a chance that the demand will progress because it’s

in their nature to patronize their own.

Culture of the people is their brand. A lifestyle that

represents their buying behavior which changes beliefs or

values. These factors affect the business because consumers

know and support goods and services that is right to their

perspective and could satisfy their needs and wants. It will

serve as an opportunity to the entrepreneurs because they

will know exactly what to provide and produce to outgrow

from the business

Political or Legal

Political environment can affect the business in

positive and negative ways. Several aspects of government

can also affect the production and operation of the


business. The increase of the minimum wage around the

Philippines leads to a larger salary for every employee, it

serves as an opportunity to every business with the reason

that the budget of the people increases so there will be a

possibility that people will be more willing to buy and

consume more products like foods everyday. The Tax Reform

for Acceleration and Inclusion or TRAIN Law effects the

prices of every product that can be buy in supermarket and

even in the wet market. It is a threat to the business since

the ingredients needed to make the product increases its

price because of the law.

Economic

Philippine Economy continues to grow at a fast pace,


matching China’s, as President Rodrigo Duterte is debating
the existence of God.

Rising inflation and growing trade account deficits


prompted the Philippines central bank to hike its overnight
reverse repurchase (RRP) rate by 25bps to 3.25% on May 10th,
2018.

The corresponding interest rates on the overnight lending


and deposit facilities were also raised accordingly. (Forbes

As Crunchy Grub expands, the owner will provide work for


employees that can benefit the economy, surpassing the
numbers of unemployment rate in the Philippines.
The Crunchy Grub can also contribute to the image of the
work place; this will enhance the number of customers that
will be accommodated.

Continuously working on making this as economy’s top


local food that serves the taste of young Filipinos

Surviving the inflation crisis in the Philippines, as


this is affordable at its tender quality.

Technological

Technology plays an important role with regards to

business. It enables both large and small businesses to

deals with workloads that are not able to do with only man’s

ability. For an instance, business technology can help pass

information about the product or services offered of a

company through trends in social media. And with regards to

the proposed business, the entrepreneurs are going to use

the advancement of internet to make their product be known.

Technology also helps not just the business itself but also

the product that it offers. Through the use of advance

cooking technology or stove, the cooking process of Pep and

Cheese Roll will be made easier. Technology also helps in

preserving the life of the product with the use of

refrigerator. Technology is indeed helpful when it comes to

business.
The use of technology in business industry would not

just be helpful but it also comes with risk. The use of

social media will also be a risk for it can help build a

negative image about the business when comments with

malicious messages come. It might end up having a bad image

to the costumers.

Disposing of garbage has been a very relevant issue and

problem in our country, inappropriate throwing away of waste

may severely endanger public health and the environment.

With this scenario, the business will take advantage in

bringing awareness and convincing the customers to execute

Proper Waste Disposal. Posters emphasizing good conduct in

disposing waste will take place at the store. Also,

quotations and sayings about it will be plastered or

positioned to inform the market the proper way of getting

rid of the se garbage and trashes. This step is truly a good

opportunity for the business and will also provide good

effects not just for the environment but also for the

people.

The food cart/stall industry is hailed as today’s top

small business to start in the Philippines. The market trend


in the Philippines now also demonstrates that engaging in

the food cart/stall industry has now become on one of the

top choices of budding entrepreneurs.

and LRT Stations down to every corner of the street in the

known by the people or the target market. The location of

the business can determine the business’ competitors

specially, if it is in public where different kinds of

The possible competitors of Crunchy Grub are those

stalls that serve the same variety of snacks as the Crunchy

Grub served and also those stalls who are selling on that

place a long time ago that can be the reason for them to

have a “suki” or those people who are loyal to their product

or business.

In Crunchy Grub’s situation since its location is in

front of the Wesleyan University of the Philippines where

different businesses are located, it would be an indication

that the Crunchy Grub will encounter many competitors that

can be a hindrance to the Crunchy Grub’s progress.

Suppliers is an organization or company that provides

the needed materials of the company such as goods and

services. It is a relevant part because it completes the


major necessities of a business. This proposed business

considered the Public Market of Cabanatuan City and Sangitan

Market as their suppliers because they had the best quality

present to fulfill and allocate almost everything for the

business including the concrete matters.

Sangitan Market is the main supplier because of its

capability to supply earthly and fresh materials which is

important in a daily selling. Its ability to provide in a

short period of time in a low price and easy way will

undeniably cause less trouble. “Market Value and Price are

equal only under conditions of market efficiency,

equilibrium and rational expectations”.

Expected trends of Sangitan market are the following:

 Increase and decrease of packaging volume from

cheap and expensive goods.

 Decrease of market cost price and material

capacity.

The employees of the business will be the owners of the

Crunchy Grub. Since there are 8 owners and the Crunchy Grub

was classified as micro business, it can be easily handled


by the 8 owners and the net income of the business will not

crunchiness that suits with its mouth-watering flavor that

is different with the usual snacks that people taste. The

Crunchy Grub’s product is unique because of its taste

similar to pizza but in a different form and have a


additional crunchiness that has a plus satisfaction to the

customers in a affordable price.

Pep and Cheese will use the Mark Up Pricing Strategy in

which the price of the product will be calculated by adding

together the cost and percentage of its mark up. The owner

will use the strategy because it enables easy calculation of

profits and prices based on full cost are morally

defensible. The computation on how the entrepreneurs get the

price of the product is:

samples of their product as their free taste.

On the month of February, the entrepreneurs decided to

promote our business online by creating a Facebook page.

That Facebook page will be used to post our promo or any

update regarding in our business.

On the month of March, the owners of the Crunchy Grub

decided to have a buy more, save more which is when you buy

up to 20 pieces of Crunchy Grub you will save up to 20

pesos. This promo starts on March 11 until March 17, between

10:00am to 2:00pm.

On the month of April, the entrepreneurs decided to put

a tarpaulin in different public places and we will also

distribute new set of flyers to attract more customers to

buy our product.

On the month of May, the staff of the Crunchy Grub will

create a short video about our product. It does include the

video of our customer’s comments regarding with the taste of

our product. The video will be posted on our Facebook page.


On the month of June, the partnership decided to focus

on promoting our business in different form of social media

to attract more customers.

On the month of July, Crunchy Grub’s goal is to promote

the business using Facebook’s ads. The entrepreneurs will

create a short video in Facebook for advertising the Crunchy

Grub’s product.

On the month of August, the staff of the Crunchy Grub

will give a free Nestea juice in every 40.00 pesos worth of

Crunchy Grub. This promo is only on August 5 to August 17,

1:00pm to 5:00pm.

On the month of September, the staff will be giving

some Coupons with the same discount. In every customer with

50,00 pesos receipt. The coupons is only limited, and this

coupons is only valid until the end of the month.

On the month of October, the owners will be doing a

Facebook promotion of the product and we will be posting an

update regarding on the Crunchy Grub’s different activity

that the partnership will be conducting in the remaining

months.

On the month of November, the entrepreneurs will be

having a special Halloween Bundle. Were you can buy a


Crunchy Grub bundle worth of 120.00 pesos/ 50 pieces. This

promo is only on November 1 up to November 5, and only

between 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

On the month of December, the Partnership decided to

have a 15% discount, in every 100 pieces of Crunchy Grub

that the customer’s going to buy. This promo is only on

December 16 to December 25.

a free drinks in every 50.00 pesos receipt worth of the

business products. Only on April 5 to April 15, 1:00pm to

5:00pm.

On the month of May, the Crunchy Grub will have a

mother’s day promo. Every mother will have a 20% discount

but this promo is only on the second Sunday in the month of

May, whole day promo.

On the month of June, the partnership will have a

father’s day promo. Every father will have a 20% discount

On the month of July, the entrepreneurs will only

focusing on the online promotion of our business.

conducting a caption contest online. The best caption with

our product will be the winner of this contest, just post it

on our Facebook page. The winner will receive a money coupon

that he/she can use as a payment.

On the month of September, the owners of Crunchy Grub

will be giving some Loyalty punch card which is a token that

lets a customer earn free drinks or discount after a certain

number of purchases. This card Valid until October 31.

focus on the online promotion of the business to attract a

wider range of customers for use to decide if we need to

establish another stall in another place.

a flash sale which is 1 day sale. The sale start’s on August

27(National Heroes Day) at 1:00pm to 2:00pm only. The

business will give a 50% discount in any amount that you

will buy.

On the month of September, the entrepreneurs will only

focusing in promote the business only to have a wider range

of customers.

On the month of October, the entrepreneurs will have a

weekend sale. Every Saturday and Sunday of this month, the

Crunchy Grub will have a 15% discount.

On the month of November, the owners decided to have a

picture contest but with their Halloween costume everyone is


allowed to join just post their picture on our Facebook

100,00 pesos.

On the month of December, the entrepreneurs will have a

Christmas sale with the discount of 20% in every piece of

you will buy. This promo is only on December 20 to December

25.

The target market of this business are the people who

are present on the street, specially the students of the

Wesleyan University of the Philippines. The stall is located

alongside the Wesleyan where people most of the time are

there. When it is time for the students to take their break,

it is important to all the business in there to prepare a

large amount of supplies since the Wesleyan have a huge

amount of students.

Many possible competitors may encounter by the Crunchy

Grub since its location have also a lot of present

businesses like Gelicious Food, Japit and Mina Street Diner

which are a known and old businesses in Wesleyan. In this

case also those competitors have edge because they offer

different varieties of food that a starting business did not

possess.
Since Crunchy Grub is a variety of snack and a new one

in the business, the supplier of the ingredients to make a

pepperoni and cheese roll stick will came from Sangitan,

Cabanatuan City where all the ingredients for the Pep n’

Cheese are present at.

Dog Tray shows in figure 7 .

It is made of 100% paper that can absorb the excess oil

of the product as it cooked by deep frying and will make the

product to look presentable and neat. Also it is a

biodegradable and environment friendly packaging that is

eco-friendly and is inferior compared to other packaging.

Since Pep and Cheese is a finger food, Paper Fluted Hot

Dog Tray is designed to be the packaging because it can show

the overall appearance of the product. Plus, customers just

need to put it in a proper disposal place after eating.

entrepreneurs want to locate their brand with customer’s

perception and how it distinguished from competitors.

According to the figure, Crunchy Grub is a business with the

lowest price and higher quality than the rivals because its

contemporary and serves a different combination on the table

of snacks industry. Its taste is imperfectly mixed together

and its “on a budget price” will surely make customers to
