Unit 4 Packet Filled in PDF

This document provides an introduction to trigonometry including definitions of sine, cosine, and tangent ratios using the mnemonic SOHCAHTOA. It gives examples of using trig ratios to find sine, cosine, and tangent of angles expressed as fractions and decimals. The document also discusses finding missing side lengths using trig ratios and inverse trig functions. Practice problems are provided to find missing side lengths and angles.

Finding Missing Sides ( ~ up to 9c:,)

Example: Use a calculator to find the length of missing side, round to the tenth decimal place.

Step I: Locate your known angle.

Step 2: Labe_l your sides opp, adj and hyp in relationship to the angle in step I.
Step 3: Determi ne whether to use sin, cos or tan and set up your equation.
Step 4: Solve for your unknown.

Example I: Using Sine Example 2: Using Cosine
