FACTORS

1. Biological factor

influences, brain
chemistry, hormone
levels, nutrition and
gender.

2. Environmental factors

a. Home and family influences

— a study that followed children


over a ten year period showed
that positive relationships among
children and their relatives led to
more positive, healthy behaviors
in life. Their physical health,
taking care of themselves and
making healthy choices, was
connected with their family
experiences as young children.

b. School experiences

— some good and some


not so good that are
shared for others to learn.
Some experiences we
hope will happen to others
and some are not.
In school, some
students are
experiencing bullying
and it may result to:

phenomenon.

Emotional and Behavioral Disorders

1. Anti-social Behavior

— some children manifest


consistent and frequent
discovered patterns of
behavior that violate the
rules and regulations at
home, the laws of the
community and country.
*Deviant tendencies among secondary Filipino
students revealed five components of anti-social
behavior.

1. Defacing school property.

2. Creating assault of abuse towards students and


school authorities.

3. Wearing/displaying unacceptable attire and


grooming.

4. Engaging in activities that interfere with academic


performance.

5. Violate school legal norms and policies.


*Deviant behavior could lead to the
formation of conduct disorders like:

1. Distraction of property.

2. Aggressive forms of behavior.

3. Behavior towards people and


animals.

4. Theft.
2. Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
The symptoms are:
1. Often loses one's temper.

2. Often argues with adult's request.

3. Often deliberately annoys people.

4. Often blames others for one's


mistake or misbehavior.

5. Often touchy or easily annoyed by


others.

6. Often angry and resentful.


3. Externalizing Behavioral
Disorders

•Examples of externalizing
behavioral disorders are:
1. Out of seat behavior.

2. Making unnecessary noise.

3. Truancy.

4. Constant talking to self


and others.

5. Persistent lying.

6. Constant blaming of
others.
4. Internalizing Behavioral
Disorders:
•Examples of internalizing
behavioral disorders are:
1. Withdrawn behavior.

2. Lack of social skills.

3. Often daydream.

4. Tend to be fearful of
things and even without reason.

5. May experience serious


bouts of depression.
5. Delinquency: is a legal term that refers to the
criminal offenses committed by an adolescent.
It is a behavioral disorder.

*Example of delinquent acts and the crimes they


can lead to:
