Q. While applying for leave, what would be the criteria for calculating “Number of days”?
Number of days are auto calculated depending upon the leave period provided by you. While
doing so, system excludes Saturdays, Sundays and declared holidays for your respective units.
However, you can still edit number of days in case Saturday and Sunday are not off days for you.
In such a scenario, it is also mandatory to fill ‘Remarks’ column.

Q. How do I apply for leave in case my leave balance is exhausted?

You can still apply for general leaves. In such cases your leave balance count will show a
negative value. This will be adjusted next year when leaves get credited to your leave balance.
However, approval for such leaves is at the discretion of the reporting manager. If the manager
rejects the leave, the other option is to apply for “leave without pay”.

Q. Can I apply for back-dated leaves?

Yes, you can apply for back dated leaves, but leave start date cannot be less then three months
from leave applied date. e.g. if an employee is applying leave on 15th June 2007, he can apply
from 16th March 2007 onwards These will also go to their reporting manager for approval.

Q. How advance can I apply for a leave?

You can apply for future dated leaves, but start date of your leave can not be more then 365 days
from today’s date. e.g. if an employee is applying leave on 15th June 2007, he can apply up to
14th June 2008

Q. What if I don’t need the leave which I have applied for?

You can choose to cancel or modify the leaves. Cancellation request will go to the reporting
manager for approval in case leave is cancelled after leave start date. Approved leaves cannot be
modified. You may cancel it apply afresh.

Q. How do I know that my Manager is aware of the leave I have applied?
For every request, an auto mailer as well as reminder is generated to the reporting business
manager. Once the reporting manager approves/ rejects, you receive back an auto mailer and the
same can also be verified from “My Leave Status” tab in the application.

Q. What is the objective of notification to other people while applying for leaves?
This feature helps to proactively inform key people e.g. team members, internal users, other than
your business and functional manager about you going on leave. “Out of Office” feature in lotus notes
can be used to inform about your leaves to people who are trying to reach you.
