BS Final Assignment

The document discusses using two-way ANOVA to analyze cotton yarn count variation. It explains that ANOVA tests whether population means are equal by comparing sample means across different factor levels. The study used two-way ANOVA to analyze yarn count data from 7 machines across 3 shifts. The results showed that the average yarn count was not significantly different based on either the machine or shift, as the F-critical values were greater than the F-calculated values. Therefore, the study concluded that there was no significant difference in yarn count variation between machines or shifts in the textile spinning industry.

Cause study
About Anova: -
Anova, which is the abbreviation of “analysis of variance”, tests the hypothesis that the
means of two or more populations are equal. ANOVA assess the importance of one or more
factors by comparing the response variable means at the different factor levels. The null
hypothesis states that all population means (factor level means) are equal, while the
alternative hypothesis states that at least one is different,
We are using the one-way ANOVA method because the sample data are separated into
groups according to one characteristic, which is the “SC” dimension. Instead of referring to
the main objective of testing for equal means, the term analysis of variance refers to the
method we use, which is based on an analysis of sample variances, [M. F. Triola].
What are we doing is comparing the variance between samples with variance within sample
variance between sample
𝐅𝐅 =
variance within sample
A correlation between the p-value and test statistic for one-way ANOVA, F, states that for
larger values of F, we get smaller p-values and for that the ANOVA test is right-tailed. Also,
smaller values of F result in larger values of p-values and the graph will be left-tailed. The P-
value is the probability of obtaining a sample statistic with a value as extreme as, or more
extreme than the one determined by the sample data. Fig. 1, below, shows the relationship
between F test statistic and p-value.

Study: -
 In this study by using of two-way Anova there are analysing the yarn
count variation
 This Anova required some conditions like Sampled populations follow
the normal distribution., Samples are independent, Populations have
equal standard deviations.
 In the process of random sampling method, they selected 7 machines for
3 shifts.
 Segregated the data as table-2 for analysing process.
 Here there are two Anova one is machines and other is shifts.
 By using of “XL” there got the data of count, average, variance and
source of variation.
 By the output of xl there said that the average number of yarn count is not
depends upon the shift and machines
 f-critical is greater than f-calculated, so that it is not rejected

 They conclude that there is no difference of count variation in machines

and shifts and outcomes is not so significance
Conclusion: -
From the cause study of analysis of cotton yarn count variation by two way
Anova it is done that the there is no much difference of yarn count
manufacturing in the textile spinning industry as per the result of Anova done in
xl.
