    human groups”
    According to Auguste Comte
    “Sociology is “subject to natural and invariable laws, the
    discovery of which is the objective of investigation.
    Why Should We Study Sociology as a Student of
    Engineering
    As a student of engineering, we need to study sociology.  It’s really
    important because engineers have to deal with the society.  We have to
    understand society needs and design our plans to solve society problems
    and needs. Sometimes we will have to spend most of the time in
    company, factory, industry where we work with many types of
    colleagues. Sociological knowledge will help us to maintain good
    collegiality.
    Definition of Sociology and Engineering
     Sociology means the systematic study of the development,
    structure, interaction and collective behaviour of organized groups
    of humans.
     On the other hand, engineering is all about the application of
    science and math by which the properties of matter and the sources
    of energy in nature are made useful to people.

    Interaction between the Evolution of Technology in Engineering and


    Society
    The interaction between the evolution of technology and the
    development of economy and society has always been important
    dimension of human history. The transition from the agricultural society
    towards the industrial society provides the most pertinent illustration of
    the profound implications which the full diffusion of new technologies
    can have on following points:-
    1. Family structures
    2. Work relations
    3. Settlement patterns
    4. Economic power configuration
    5. Political power configuration
    6. Behaviour patterns
    7. Value systems
    What is the importance of studying Sociology for me as a student of
    Computer Science and Engineering?
    1. If I have to make an app or develop kind of website, I have to think
    about social need. I have to think about what the society needs
    right now or what’s treading. As sociology discuss about the flow
    of the society and talks about the needs of society so it’s really
    important for me to study sociology.
    2. When I have to deal with a customer for an app of website or any
    kind of technology related product, I have to think about the
    customer satisfaction and what the customer needs. I have to
    deliver the product that is suitable for the customer that I’m
    working with. Not every customer will have same demand and
    type of work. So I have to take the customers behavior and demand
    to consideration and have to do my work according to that. As
    sociology discusses about how human behaves in society and also
    discuss about their needs, so it’s important for me to study
    sociology.
    3. If I recruit some employee for any kind of projects of mine or put
    up an IT farm where I have to work with many kind of people, I
    have to think about how I can be a good leader and bring the best
    out my employee. I have to understand their needs and also have to
    take precautions so that they can give the best and increase
    productivity. Sociology will help me to become an efficient leader
    and will help me to work with bunch of people.
    4. After completing my degree in CSE I have to go out and explore
    the world and have to deal with the society. I have to work with or
    under various kinds of people. Sociology will help me to work
    along them and will help me to come up with the society
