THINGS YOU
SHOULD BRING
The Winter
 When 'Winter is Coming', IIM Ranchi becomes delightfully
chilly. However, to protect yourself from the white walkers,
bring jackets/ jerkins/ sweaters/ pullovers. Winter doesn't set in
properly till mid October so you'll have plenty of time to bring
them along or buy them at Ranchi.

 You will need thick, warm quilts at the peak of winter.

Blankets and quilts are all available at Ranchi. You can bring
those with you or purchase locally.

 If you are used to warm tropical weather, buy gloves, socks and
shawls for those winter months in Ranchi. The winter lasts till
February and by March it becomes quite pleasant.

 You will NOT be there during summer, so no issues about that

.

FESTIVALS AT IIMR
Two years away from home is no
big deal?
Wrong! It's not that easy and is
definitely a big deal. The
Cultural Committee of IIM
Ranchi helps you celebrate and
enjoy festivals from all around
India and embrace the diversity
around you. Experience Diwali,
Dandiya, Ganesh Puja, Holi and
many more festivals with your
new family here and de-stress
between all your work and
assignments. After all this is a
home away from home and being
together during celebrations is a
warm happy feeling that you

STEP EXPERIENCE
"Detouring from the destined place, Ranchi to Lyon with STEP
2019 helped me gain a lifetime experience. Studying abroad
enhanced my perception towards the usefulness of academics
in life. Today, I see myself as someone who has come back
with a blend of different cultures, lifestyles and outlooks, a
diary full of learning.
Student Exchange Programme truly has something different
to offer on the plate!"
Devina Chhajer

The holiday trimester (read it as STEP 2019) is an experience that will be forever
etched on my memory. 105 days passed by very quickly but today when I have
flashbacks, each moment spent there is worth recalling. It gave me a chance to push
myself beyond limits, do new things, talk to new people, mingle in their culture, learn
and most importantly execute at the same time. The interesting courses, amazingly
chill professors and their unique pedagogy is something to lookout for. The never-
ending travel plans is one thing that I miss the most!

“For the perfect blend of travelling, exploring, learning and studying at the same time;
try STEP. You will love it!”

STEP EXPERIENCE
My childhood dream of studying in a well-known international college finally
found its wings when last year, I was accepted in Audencia Business School for
student exchange program from IIM Ranchi. Every experience was amazing
from making some very good friends, exploring beautiful places and working
on challenging projects under the guidance of great mentors.
Overall my experience was amazing and I got to learn many new things. In the
future I would love to go back to France to cherish its beauty again. Until then
Au revoir!

Akash Roy

Experiencing the difference of pedagogy, culture and working in

teams with people from different countries was an enriching and
humbling experience. The Student Exchange Program is indeed the
cherry on the MBA pie and has widened my perspective. These 4
months have been the best learning experience in my life yet. The
STEP program is not to be missed!
