INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT

MACROECONOMICS AND BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

Assignment (Individual):10 Marks


For this assignment, students can pick up any one of the topics given below and produce a write
up of a 1400 to 1600 words. You should aim to produce a well-integrated piece of work.
Word limit for this assignment is 1400-1600 words.

Submission of work: Please note that you must submit your work latest by 20th December,
2020 through mail. After this date, one mark will be deducted each day for late submission .
The format for the report is double-spaced, 12-point font (Times New Roman). Report should
be in word doc only.

3. Role of India in global supply chain

4. Global economic crisis and its effect


5. Liquidity management in the Indian Financial System

6. Foreign Exchange Management Policy in India

How to proceed:

(a) Prepare a draft structure for your assignment on the chosen topic.
(b) Gather all the information before preparing the draft.
(c) You can use journal articles and books for the purpose of referencing.
(d) Read and see if it (your draft) is making sense and then give a final shape to your
manuscript.
(e) Incorporate real life examples, wherever applicable.
(f) Do a final check for quality of essay, besides spelling and/ or grammatical mistakes.
Once ready in all the aspects, submit before deadline.

Suggested Structure of your assignment

The structure of your assignment should have a framework consisting of Introduction, main
body of assignment; and then conclusion. Given below are few suggestions w.r.t contents of
these components for your guidance. However you are free to use your own framework. Only
thing you need to remember is that overall discussion should revolve around the main topic
and you should be in a position to use appropriate theoretical frameworks, concepts or
research findings and other source material.

Introduction: This part should literally introduce the reader to the assignment, by providing a
context for what follows and defining the focus and approach being taken. Be clear in defining
the focus and aims, i.e. what you are trying to achieve.
A good introduction should outline clearly the various areas which you are going to address,
why, and in what order. Word limit for this section could be in the range of 200-300 words.

Body of assignment: In the central part of the assignment you will be drawing on academic
literature to help you build and develop your argument. You should be using appropriate
theoretical frameworks, concepts or research findings and other source material to help you
analyze and evaluate different perspectives, formulate arguments and demonstrate your
understanding of the issues involved.
You need to bear in mind that the purpose of the assignment is to demonstrate that you have
developed thoughtful insights into the topic. You can to use sub-headings to organize your
assignment well.
Word limit for this section could be in the range of 900-1000 words.
Conclusion: This section should serve as a ‘pulling together’ of the threads of your argument.
You need to show your ability of critical reflection here. Finally, you also need to say what have
you learned.
Word limit for this section could be in the range of 200-300 words.

How will you be assessed?


You will be assessed on the following parameters for your assignment:
 1.  How well do you introduce the concept, and your theoretical framework.
2.  Providing evidence to back up your arguments, comparing and discussing different points of
view; critical and creative thinking
3.  Type of concepts and research findings you use to support your work
4.  Critical discussion – not just description.
5.  Analysis and interpretation of facts and figures taken from various sources
6.  Conclusion and Critical reflection
7.  Your learning
