The Gujarat University is established in the year 1949 by The Gujarat University Act, 1949. As per the
powers conferred in the said Act, Gujarat University has constituted “Gujarat University Admission Committee”
to regulate the admission of candidates to the certain programmes as mentioned in “The Gujarat University
Admission Rules, 2020 (Master of Commerce)”. The mission assigned to this Committee is to carry out the
admission process in a fair and transparent manner. The admission process is conducted by this
Committee strictly on the basis of merit and the preference of the candidate. The functions of the
Committee are as follows:
• The Committee shall supervise, monitor and control the entire process of admission to the candidates seeking
admissions to the affiliated colleges or institutions.
• The Committee shall prepare the merit list in accordance with the provisions of the rules made there under.
• The Committee shall allocate the Government, Grant-in-Aid or Unaided Seats in accordance with the
provisions of the rules made there under.
• The Committee shall ensure that admission in the Government, Grant-in-Aid or Unaided Seats are made as per
the merit list prepared.
• The Committee shall perform such other functions as may be assigned to it by the Gujarat University.
The GUAC deals with admission of Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.), Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.),
Bachelor of Computer Applications (B.C.A.), Master of Business Management (M.B.A. – Five Years Integrated),
Master of Science in Computer Applications, Information Technology (M. Sc. in C.A. & I.T.- Five Years Integrated),
Five Years’ Integrated M.Sc. in Actuarial Science, Five Years’ Integrated M.Sc. in Data Science, Five Years’ Integrated
M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and Master of Commerce (M. Com.)
Gujarat University has launched online admission procedure since June, 2014-15 and performing successfully.
Online web-based admission process proved to be most accurate, transparent and time and cost effective.
2. Admission Rules
The Gujarat University Admission Rules, 2020 (Master of Commerce)
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 4 read with section 22 of the Gujarat University Act,
1949, the Gujarat University hereby makes the following rules to regulate admission to various
programmes mentioned in 1.2 as follows, namely-
2. Definitions
2.1. In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires:
2.1.1. “University” means the Gujarat University constituted under the Gujarat University Act,
1949;
2.1.2. “UGC” means University Grants Commission constituted under the University Grants
Commission Act, 1956;
2.1.3. “Rules” means “The Gujarat University Admission Rules, 2020 (Master of Commerce)”;
2.1.4. “Admission Committee” means “Gujarat University Admission Committee” framed for
centralized online admission of Gujarat University for programmes mentioned in 1.2;
2.1.5. “Admission” for the purpose of these rules means admission of candidates in the
programme mentioned in 1.2;
2.1.6. “University School”, “Department”, “Post-Graduate Center”, “Institution” means a
“University School”, “University Department”, “Post-Graduate Center”, “Institution”
respectively as defined in the Gujarat University Act, 1949;
2.1.7. “Merit Marks” or “Percentage of Marks” means the total External marks obtained by the
candidate in his/her University examination only divided by total External Marks and
multiplied by 100;
2.1.8. “Qualifying examination” means the Bachelor of Commerce & Bachelor of Business
Administration, (10+2+3 pattern) passed in relative subjects;
2.1.9. “Unaided” means Higher Payment Programme;
2.1.10. “PI” means Participating Institution/Department;
2.1.11. “Other University” means any University other than Gujarat University.
2.2. The words and expressions used in these rules but not defined shall have the same
meanings as assigned to them in the Rules.
3. Abbreviations
3.1. UGC -University Grants Commission
3.2. GU -Gujarat University
3.3. B.Com. -Bachelor of Commerce
3.4 BBA -Bachelor of Business Administration
3.5. M.Com. -Master of Commerce
3.6. PEC -Provisional Eligibility Certificate
3.7. SC -Scheduled Caste
3.8. ST -Scheduled Tribe
3.9. SEBC -Socially and Educationally Backward Class
3.10. EWS -Economically Weaker Sections
3.11. NRI -Non Resident Indian
3.12. PIO -Persons of Indian Origin
7. Reservation of Seats
7.1. For the purpose of admission, the seats shall be reserved for the candidates who are of Gujarat
State and falling under the following categories and in following proportion, namely-
7.1.1. Scheduled Castes: 7%
7.1.2. Scheduled Tribes: 15%
7.1.3. Socially and Educationally Backward Classes: 27%
7.1.4. Economically Weaker Sections 10% (As per Resolution of Gujarat Government)
7.2. A candidate seeking admission on reserved seat shall be required to produce a Certificate of
Caste provided that -
7.2.1 A candidate belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes shall be required
to produce a certificate of Non-Creamy Layer in addition to the caste certificate.
7.2.2 A candidate belonging to EWS shall be required to produce a valid certificate.
7.3. Caste Certificate/Non-Creamy Layer Certificate / EWS Certificate shall be valid only if it is duly
issued by the authority empowered by the Government of Gujarat.
7.4. A Non-creamy layer certificate issued by the competent authority shall be valid for the period of 3
years from the date of issuance.
7.5. If a candidate fails to submit the certificates as required within the stipulated time, his/her
candidature shall be considered for admission under unreserved category.
7.6. If a candidate of reserved category gets admission on unreserved seat in order of merits, he/she
may be given admission on the unreserved seat according to his/her preference.
7.7. The admission of a candidate of a reserved category on a reserved seat shall be valid subject to
the verification of caste certificate by the authority empowered by the State Government in this
behalf. In case the caste certificate is found invalid on verification, he/she shall not have right to
claim his/her admission on reserved seat and if he/she has already been granted admission, such
admission shall be cancelled. Admission of such candidate may be continued in case of availability
of vacant unreserved seats, subject to the condition of eligibility of merit.
7.8. After granting admission to all the students of reserved categories on respective reserved seats,
9.2 A student claiming admission against Ex-Servicemen category shall be required to submit a
certificate to that effect duly issued by the Director, Sainik Welfare Board or by the District Sainik
Welfare Officer. In-Service Defense personnel shall be required to submit certificate to that effect
duly issued by the Commanding Officer of the respective unit in which they are serving.
9.3 The seats remaining vacant against the category of Defense personnel and Ex-Servicemen shall be
filled up from the merit list of unreserved category students.
11.2 The student who gets admission in the category of supernumerary seats as a ward of martyrs will
be one time exempted to pay the tuition fees and will get benefit of supernumerary seat.
12.1. For the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from any University,
percentage of theory external marks obtained in the semester V and VI or final year theory
external in case of yearly pattern shall be the merit marks.
12.2. The criteria for deciding merit order in case of candidates having equal merit marks shall be
based on the following descending sequence, namely -
12.2.1. Aggregate marks obtained in semester V and VI or final year in case of yearly pattern;
12.2.2. External Marks obtained in semester VI or final year in case of yearly pattern;
12.2.3. External Marks obtained in semester V;
12.2.4. Date of Birth (Age).
12.2.5. Those students whose mark sheet includes CGPA / Grade only and does not produce
marks / percentage have to produce equivalent certificate issued by the University
showing the conversion of Grade / CGPA into marks or percentage otherwise their
registration form will not be accepted.
15.8 After completion of second round, the vacant seats of reserved categories will be transferred to
open category.
16. Fees
16.1. A candidate who gets admission in the government, aided or unaided university school,
department, college or institution shall have to pay such fees, as may be determined by the
Gujarat University.
16.2 The student who gets admission in the category of supernumerary seats as a ward of martyrs will
be one time exempted to pay the tuition fees (Contact GUAC, IAS Training Center).
16.3. If a candidate, who has paid the fees after getting admission, gets his/ her admission cancelled,
his/ her fees shall be refunded after completion of the admission process after deducting 10% of
the fees paid, if permitted by GUAC to do so.
16.4. In case of admission, benefits of Freeship card will be availed to only un-aided (i.e. – self-
financed) /higher payment programmes (Contact GUAC, IAS Training Center).
19.2 In such cases if fees collected by GUAC will be refunded by GUAC after deducting 10% of fees and if
fees is collected by college will be refunded by college after deducting 10% of fees as per 19.1.
19.3 Student admitted through GUAC shall not be eligible to get refund of fees in any circumstances, if
he/she cancels his/her admission after 30/10/2020.
23. Interpretation
In implementation of the provisions of these rules, if any difficulty or question arises as to the
interpretation of any provision, the decision of the Admission Committee shall be final. If any dispute
arises, it will fall under Ahmedabad City Jurisdiction only.

To register first time the student has to click on “New Registration” link from top-left corner of
web page.
1. To enable registration form, enter the unique 14 character PIN Number (provided by the
university) in to the textbox besides PIN number button.
2. After entering the PIN, Candidate has to fill up Personal details as displayed in above screen.
3. For confirmation of PIN no & Mobile number click on verify button after entering confirm
mobile number. This will send verification code on your mobile number.
4. Enter this 4 digit code in your registration form to complete registration process. Registration
form once confirmed, information cannot be changed later. Candidate needs to ensure
correctness of data before confirming submission. Also, keep all registration details handy for
future login into the system. Click ‘Submit’ button for completing registration process.
5. For all registered candidates, unique registration number will be generated and will be
displayed on top of the Login form. The candidate will use this Registration number for all future
communications and online admission process.
6. For registration process student has to fill all the required fields on the registration form. After
submitting registration form student will receive SMS mentioning Registration No., PIN No. and
Serial No., which should retain throughout the admission process.
Once candidate is registered, she/he will be allowed to access the application using Registration
No, PIN No, PIN Serial No. and captcha codes displayed in above screen.
On Successful login, Admission form will be displayed on the screen as in step 4.
• Candidates who selects category as ‘SEBC’ shall provide ‘Non-Creamy Layer Certificate no.’ and
‘Issue date of Certification’.
Note: Issue Date of certificate must be during validity of certificate For a SEBC category applicant, if valid
dated Non-Creamy layer certificate will not be provided, then registration will be considered under
“Open” category.
Candidates who are not from Gujarat University shall provide ‘Provisional Eligibility Certificate’
from Gujarat University.
Candidates who are physical handicap have to submit % disability in provided box. B.Com./B.B.A.
details section will lock after clicking Next Button. So make sure. All information including
University, Seat No., Pass month & Year must be correct & as per your Mark sheet.

Click on ‘Logout’ button in order to revisit the application form for any change/correction. A student has to ensure
to submit the online application form before scheduled deadline.
Click on ‘Submit’ button, if application form is filled up completely. Once the form is submitted, a student cannot
change any detail.
On successful submission of application form, student can print application form in A4 size page.
If any student doesn’t get his/her merit rank, he/she has to fill up the Google form with
required documents for correction (Google form link is given in the Key Dates).
As per college (Courses, medium etc.) choices given by students, allotment will be done strictly on merit
basis. Students can see result after login in the admission site as per schedule. Those students who got the
admission can see “Print Provisional Allotment Admission Letter and Fees Receipt” button. The student,
who does not get admission, cannot see the same button & allotted institute name also will be blank.
All students who get admission have to pay fees in selected collection center of the Kotak Mahindra Bank
and report to allotted college within the time scheduled to confirm their admission. Without fees payment &
college reporting the admission will be cancelled for which GUAC will not be held responsible.
In view of the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court in SLP No. 24295 of 2006 dated 16-05-2007
and in Civil Appeal number 887 of 2009, dated 08-05-2009 to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the
scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or
written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any
other student, or indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes
or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof
in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the
ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or
embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student,
with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by
a student over any fresher or any other student, in all higher education institutions in the country, and
thereby, to provide for the healthy development, physically and psychologically, of all students.
1. Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has
the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student;
2. Indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely
to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension
thereof in any fresher or any other student;
3. Asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which
has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to
adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student;
4. Any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any
other student or a fresher;
5. Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned
to an individual or a group of students.
6. Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student
by students;
7. Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping,
forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or
person;
8. Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, posts, public insults which would also include deriving
perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the
discomfiture to fresher or any other student
9. Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or
without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a
student over any fresher or any other student.
2. The Appendix-I should be filled up and signed by the candidate to the effect that he / she is aware of the
law regarding prohibition of ragging as well as the punishments, and that he/she, if found guilty of the
offence of ragging and / or abetting ragging, is liable to be punished appropriately.
3. The affidavit-II should be signed by the parent/guardian of the applicant to the effect that he/she is also
aware of the law in this regard and agrees to abide by the punishment meted out to his/her ward in case
the latter is found guilty of ragging and / or abetting ragging.
4. A student seeking admission to the hostel shall have to submit another affidavit along with his/her
application for hostel accommodation that he / she is also aware of the law in this regard and agrees to
abide by the punishments meted out if he / she is found guilty of ragging and / or abetting ragging.
5. The first year students should desist from doing anything against their will even if ordered by the seniors,
and that they have nothing to fear as the institution cares for them and shall not tolerate any atrocities
against them.
6. A student securing admission to a particular institute shall have to submit concern affidavits to the
principal of institute.
Actions to be taken against students for indulging and abetting ragging in all Government, Grant-in-Aid and
un-aid Colleges/ Institutes and all schools and departments of the University:
1. The punishment to be meted out to the persons indulged in ragging has to be exemplary and justifiably
harsh to act as a deterrent against recurrence of such incidents.
2. Every single incident of ragging a First Information Report (FIR) must be filed without exception by the
institutional authorities with the local police authorities.
3. The Anti-Ragging Committee of the institution shall take an appropriate decision, with regard to
punishment or otherwise, depending on the facts of each incident of ragging and nature and gravity of the
incident of ragging.
4. Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offence as established the possible punishments for those
found guilty of ragging at the institution level shall be any one or any combination of the following,
a. Cancellation of admission
b. Suspension from attending classes
c. Withholding / withdrawing scholarship / fellowship and other benefits
d. Debarring from appearing in any test / examination or other evaluation process
e. Withholding results
f. Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet,
tournament, youth festival, etc.
g. Suspension / expulsion from the hostel
h. Rustication from the institution for period ranging from 1 to 4 semesters
i. Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution.
An appeal against the order of punishment by the Anti-Ragging Committee shall lie,
1. In case of an order of an institution, affiliated to or constituent part, of the University, to the Vice-Chancellor of
the University;
2. In case of an order of a University, to its Chancellor.
3. In case of an institution of national importance created by an Act of Parliament, to the Chairman or Chancellor
of the institution, as the case may be.
The institutional authorities shall intimate the incidents of ragging occurred in their premises along with actions
taken to the University form time to time.

after B Com/BBA and my terms of any programme is not in continuation at any university. I also declare
that I have not been debarred from admission or restrained to appear for university Exam by way of
punishment for having caught in the misconduct/copy at the exam by the competent authority of any

5. Important Instruction:
FOR STUDENTS OTHER THAN GUJARAT UNIVERSITY, AHMEDABAD
5.1 The boards / Universities who have issued the mark sheet with theory and practical marks must
produce certificates issued by school / board / University which clearly indicate classification of
theory and practical marks otherwise their registration form will not be accepted. The merit list
will be prepared strictly on external theory marks only.
For e.g.
5.1.1 In subject of statistics 40 marks are for theory and 22 marks are for practical should indicate
in the following manner.
Statistics: 40 / 70 (Theory) 22 / 30 (Practical) 62 / 100 (Total)
5.1.2 If there is inclusion of theory / practical as well as external / internal will be classified as
follows:
40 Marks External Marks : 25 (out of 50) 22 Marks External Marks : 15 (out of 20)
(out of 70) Internal Marks : 15 (out of 20) (out of 30) Internal Marks : 07 (out of 10)
5.2 Those students whose mark sheet include CGPA / Grade only and does not include marks /
percentage have to produce equivalent certificate issued by the school / board / university
showing the conversion of grade/ CGPA into marks or percentage otherwise their registration
form will not be accepted.
