Need For RM and IPR

Research methodology refers to the procedures and techniques used to identify, select, process, and analyze information for a research paper or project. It allows readers to evaluate the validity and reliability of a study. Research methods help provide solutions to problems and train researchers in choosing appropriate materials, tools, and techniques based on the problem. The type of data, whether qualitative or quantitative, depends on the goal, with quantitative used to test theories and qualitative used to understand concepts and experiences. Common research methods include experiments, surveys, interviews, case studies, observation, and Delphi studies.

Need for RM and IPR

Research methodology is the specific procedures or techniques used to identify, select, process,
and analyze information about a topic. In a research paper, the methodology section allows the
reader to critically evaluate a study's overall validity and reliability.

More precisely, research methods help us get a solution to a problem. ... The study of research

methodology provides us the necessary training in choosing methods, materials, scientific tools
and training in techniques relevant for the problem chosen.

A thumb rule for deciding whether to use qualitative or quantitative data is: Using quantitative

analysis works better if you want to confirm or test something (a theory or
hypothesis) Using qualitative research works better if you wish to understand something
(concepts, thoughts, experiences).

Research methods

 Experiments
 Surveys
 Questionnaires
 Interviews
 Case studies
 Participant and non-participant observation
 Observational trials
 Studies using the Delphi method.
