How to create Web Filter Policy and apply it on User/Group/Host/Host Group.

In the below example using Web Filter Policy we will be denying Dating & Matrimony, Shopping and
Adult Content sites by means of Cyberoam Default Web Category. Also, we will create a custom
category wherein we will be denying a few URLs & keywords.

1. Create Custom Web Category and mention the URLs that you want to
specifically block under “Domain” field. Also, you may mention keywords.

Note: Be very careful while putting keyword as any URL string that include a
given keyword will be categorised under this category.

2. Create a custom Web Filter Policy with templet “Allow All”.

If you want to log the traffic filtered by this policy, keep the check on
“Enable Reporting”.
3. Open the same Web Filter policy and click on “Add” to add the default & custom web categories
in the denied list. We could also put custom time schedule here incase you want to put this
restriction during a certain hours.
1. Start configuring firewall rule with Source “LAN” & Destination “WAN”.
2. Enable “Attach Idendity” option and under Idendity deselect “Any” and
select the concerned user. You could also create similar rule for a certain
“User Group”.
3. Please, apply the schedule to the rule as desired and mark the Action as “Accept”. Please, do not
forget to enable “Apply NAT” option and go with “Ok”.
