NAVIGATION MENU
NAVIGATION MENU
The GUI menu is organized in two parts:
• a “Sections Menu”, which statically contains links to the various pages of the GUI;
• a “Functions Menu”, which dynamically contains all the specific functions available for the currently displayed page.
The following is a brief description of all the icons displayed in the Sections Menu.

DATE AND TIME SETTINGS
In this page the administrator can set date and time for all available terminals in the system, setting proper values in the form
and then pressing the “apply” button. The “exit” button will go back to previous page without modifying anything, while the
“reset” button will clear the form of any newly inserted information. After changing these parameters, all the disposals of the
system, servers and clients, are automatically updated to the new time value.
NOTE. If the time gap is over a few minutes, a complete system reboot can occur, because the entire system has to
synchronize again with the new settings.

To access the “VoIP terminals” pages, just click on the “communication” menu button
This page gives access to an exhaustive list of the available VoIP terminals of the system. From here the administrator is
allowed to view terminal parameters by clicking on the proper “lens” icon.

VoIP TERMINALS – NIGHT&DAY CONFIGURATION
With this feature it’s possible to choose which VoIP terminals will ring when an external call comes during the day, depending
on which voice channel and which time interval we are in. First of all choose which voice channel you want to configure:
Mapping VoIP terminals over the available/configured time intervals can be done by marking some of them for any time interval,
in the “VoIP Terminals” area of the page. Clicking the “apply changes” button will store information in the database. The “exit”
button returns to the “VoIP terminals” page without saving any information.
To define time intervals the administrator is asked to set only the “end time” of each interval while “starting time” is automatically
set (and immediately shown) by the system. Intervals can be set with a minimum step of one minute.
Once the intervals are set (by pressing the “apply changes” button) the administrator will be brought back to the previous
page, and can therefore map the desired terminals inside any configured time intervals.
An interval is considered “not set” if “start time” and “end time” are both equal to “00:00”. If the 24 hours time span is already
mapped, it won’t be possible to define further intervals. The administrator, anyway, can always change the intervals to better
fit users needs.
IMPORTANT: If the time intervals are redefined, all previous terminal mappings will be destroyed and the administrator will have
to set them once again.

VoIP TERMINALS – PHONE SERVICES
PAGING
A user can broadcast a vocal message through multiple phones.
The web administrator can configure the “page groups” (list of extensions which will play the message) which will answer
when a predefined number is called. This number is written in the “group number” column of the “service groups” table.
How it works: call a page extension (ex. 6621) and you can transmit a message thru multiple phone (and/or their
loudspeakers). All the phone in the call list auto-answer the call in loudspeaker mode. This service is phone dependent
(check Best data sheet for more info) and generally is not avialable in mobile phone technology (DECT).

There are two different ways to reach a terminals group: The administrator can modify:
• Ring All (all the phones rings simultaneously); • the group name;

To access “Audio/Video Terminals” page, click on the “AV terminals” button menu.
This page gives access to an exhaustive list of the available AV terminals of the system. From here the administrator is
allowed to view the parameters by clicking on the proper “lens” icon.
NOTE. From the AV Terminals page the administrator can reach all the functionalities regarding multimedia contents, available
in the functions menu (see further for details).

The AV terminal properties and their meanings are briefly summarized below.

AUDIO CONTENT
To access the “Audio Content” pages, click on the “audio content” icon in the functions menu from the “Audio/
Video Terminals” page.
This page gives access to all available audio contents of the system. From here the administrator is allowed to view, modify and
delete audio files or some of their properties.
Supplementary audio content’s features such as “default audio policy”, “audio playlist management” and “audio playlist
broadcast” are now available in the functions menu of the “Audio Content” page and their features will be described further in
this manual.
By clicking on the Show Simple Search/Show Advanced Search links the web page is extended as follows and it is possible to
perform searches into the audio contents database.
SIMPLE SEARCH: the entered keyword is compared with all the entries in the database, looking for occurrences in all of the four
fields available (artist, track name, album, genre). There will be shown all entries which match the given keyword in at least
one of the search fields, sorted by artist, album or genre.

AUDIO CONTENT
ADVANCED SEARCH: keywords can be entered for artist, track name, album or genre and the search procedure will look for
selective occurrences in these fields for all the entries in the database. There will be shown only entries which simultaneously
match all keywords in the related search fields, sorted by artist, album or genre.
In both cases, the administrator can submit the request by clicking the “launch search” button. Searches are case insensitive
and results can be ordered by artist, album or genre.
In the “Available Content” section of the Audio Content page are listed all the entries available in the database. Clicking on the
“artist”, “album” or “genre” links in the first row of the table, all entries in the database will be ordered by the selected field.
Clicking on a particular content (by clicking on its artist, album or genre entries) will show a table of results.
• Clicking on an artist entry will show up all the albums of that artist;
• Clicking on a genre entry will show up all entries in the database which corresponds to that genre;
• Clicking on an album entry will show up all the corresponding audio tracks (see below) with “details”, “policy” and “remove”
functionalities. For example, clicking on the album name “Themes–CD1” all its tracks will be shown as in following picture.
The “saved playlist” button in the bottom part of the “Audio Content” page will show up the audio playlists previously saved.
Their functionalities will be explained further in this manual.

AUDIO PLAYLISTS - CREATION
AUDIO PLAYLISTS
The administrator can create, edit, and broadcast audio playlists, basically a list of tracks to be played consequentially from a
multimedia device.
The administrator must select the album from which he desires to add songs to the playlist, and then select them by clicking
on the “select” checkboxes. This way, audio tracks are automatically added to the playlist. If unchecked, they are automatically
removed.

The administrator can now save the playlist (“save playlist” button), close the playlist and return to the “Audio Contents”
page (“close playlist” button) or refresh the current page (“refresh page” button).
By clicking the button it is possible to remove some audio tracks from the playlist.

Administrator can view the playlist (“show playlist” button), edit it (“edit playlist” button) or delete it (“delete playlist” button).
The “exit” button will return to the “Audio Contents” page.
Administrator can view the playlist (“show playlist” button) or broadcast it (“broadcast playlist” button). The “exit” button will
return to the “Audio Contents” page.
By clicking the “broadcast playlist” button, the administrator will access the “Terminal Selection” page, and choose which
terminals should play the broadcast.

SINGLE VIDEO BROADCAST
By clicking on the “Go” button, the administrator will access the “terminal selection” page, and choose which terminals should
play the broadcast. This page has the same layout than the audio playlist broadcast page, please refer to it for details. The only
difference is that the “exit” button now will return to the “Video Contents” page.

CONTENT LOADER
CONTENT LOADER
To access the “Content Loader” page, click on the “loader” button in the functions menu from the “Audio/Video
Terminals” page.
This page gives access to the “Content Loader” service. The administrator can load into the system database any audio,
video or image content
There are two or three steps to follow in order to load media contents:
• Download the MediaManager software, install it and follow instructions on the “MediaManager User Manual” in order to
collect data and prepare them for upload;
• If an USB media box is used with MediaManager, plug it in the VoD server’s USB port;
• Upload contents by clicking on the “Launch Content Loader” button in this web page, (visible as soon as the system
senses that new contents are available - see next page).

CONTENT LOADER
When an USB local media box is plugged to the USB port of the main server, after a few seconds the “Content Loader” page
will change as in following picture.
Instead, if some media contents have been exported by MediaManager onto the VoD server through the network , the
“Content Loader” page will show up as in next picture.
In both cases, by clicking on the “Launch Content Loader” button, these files will be definitely uploaded into the entertainment
system and added to the global database.
While the transfer is in progress, the “MediaLoader status” will become BUSY and, if your media box is connected, in the
“Devices Info” field will appear a warning to not disconnect it until the transfer is completed. When the “MediaLoader status”
will return IDLE, transfer will be completed and all contents will be stored onto the system’s database.

This page gives access to an exhaustive list of the available Touch Screen terminals in the system. From here the
administrator is allowed to view some technical details of any Touch Screen terminal, by clicking on the “lens” button besides
the desired entry.

NETWORK ACCESS ADMINISTRATION
In this page, administrator can choose which network access connection to enable in order to give Internet connectivity
to the system, by clicking on the proper “enable” button in the “manage” column of the table. As soon as the process is
completed, the page will refresh.
• Interface: these are the connections installed aboard;
• Available: a green check stands for “available connection”;
• Enabled: a green check stands for “enabled connection”;
• Cost/min and Speed: detailed information about the type of connection.
Note. For remote technical aid, there is the possibility to enable “Remote Assistance VPN” on the current Internet connection,
by simply clicking on the “enable” button. It works only if there is already an enabled Internet connection (usually through a
VSAT satellite interface).

To access the “Accounting” pages just click on the “accounting” button in the sections menu.
Through this page an administrator can access the connectivity log files (clicking on the proper “log” button), in order to look
for some specific traffic information, or clear them (clicking on the “clear log” button).

PARTY FUNCTION
To access the “Party Configuration” pages just click on the “party” button in the functions menu from the
“Audio/Video Terminals” page.
Note. Party function is available only if the involved devices has been properly connected.
The party function allows the user to configure a “party” environment. This consists in having a “master” audio device which
controls many “slave” audio devices, in order to create a single configured point, in which the master device controls the
multimedia playing while the slave devices just act as remote amplifiers.
This accomplishes to have a broad sound diffusion.
The administrator can choose the master device, by clicking on the “lens” icon. There is the possibility to set the volume,
choose the input and play a previously created audio playlist.
Slave devices can be selected clicking in the “enabled” checkbox. In some configurations, some clients need to be powered off
by clicking the “needs power off” checkbox.
