Schools Defenders of the Earth Dance
Through this activity students transformed to superheroes in order to Save the Earth. They used the
song of Costanzo Padovano “Climate Change”.
They collaborated with each other and decided about the movements they were going to use for
their dance. They can make a video/ or take photos of their dance in order to share it among other
schools.
Students through this activity helped Mr. Octopus to collect garbage from the oceans by
planning his correct route and programming the robot. Divided into three groups, one group
assembles the Ocean grid on the floor and decided on the beginning and end of the track. The
second team hid in some squares of the grid objects that pollute the sea, trapped animals.
Children were beginning to realize that animals also feel some of the emotions that humans
experience. Finally, a group collage was created. Then, images were placed on the grid
depicting people with similar emotions to those of the animals observed by the groups. Each
group, after presenting the image of the animal that worked, observed the grid and identified the
image of the person who feels a corresponding emotion. The team programmed the robot to
lead it to that square.
Cody Roby and Foxie Planet, work together and collect all recyclable packages for the blue bin, helping
the environment. Children through Cody Roby play by programming !!!
Students had the chance to cultivate their computational thinking skills and had fun with coding.
Teachers and children enjoyed the whole process and had fun during the activities.
As we want to inspire more teachers we are planning to create a collaborative e-book and
share it with the educational community by encouraging them to participate in European Code
Week of 2021.
