1) A questioned suicide letter and handwriting samples of Gii anne P. Raymundo were examined by the Baguio City Crime Laboratory to determine if they were written by the same person. 2) Through comparative examination of letter formations, strokes, pen lifts and other characteristics, similarities were found between the questioned writing and each of the 5 standard handwriting samples. 3) The examiner concluded that the questioned writing and standards were written by the same person, Gii anne P. Raymundo.

CASE: Suicide Letter

SPECIMENS SUBMITTED:
1. One (1) copy of document that was written on a last will testament being questioned as a
personal handwriting of Gii anne P. Raymundo marked as “Q -1 L6”,”Q-1 L3”,”Q-1 L4”,”Q-1
L6”,Q-1 L1”.
2. Submitted documents bearing the handwriting of Gii anne Raymundo marked to with:
S-1 = One (1) copy of Quiz paper dated 08-11-2017
S-2 = One (1) copy of Love Letter dated 05-14-2016
S-3 = One (1) copy of Excuse Letter dated 5-21-2018
S-4 = One (1) copy of Greeting Letter dated 7-21-2018
S-5 = One (1) copy of Greeting Letter dated 12-25-2017

PURPOSE OF LABORATORY EXAMINATION:


To conduct scientific examination and analysis on the submitted specimens whether or not the
questioned signature marked “Q-1” and the standard signatures marked “S-1 to S-5) were
written by one and the same person.

FINDINGS:
Scientific comparative examination and analysis of the questioned and submitted
standards reveal divergences in the manner of execution, line quality, stroke structure and other
individual handwriting characteristics. Specifically, the following were the findings:

Q1 and S1
The questioned marked as “Q1L6”revealed that the letter “t” has diacritics that are
similar to that collected standard marked as “S1L8”.Secondly the starting an ending
stroke of letter “a” is similar to that standard marked as “S1L8”.While the serif of the
letter “k” can also be determined as the same of that marked standard together with the
starting stroke of letter “e” is also the same. Lastly, the ending stroke of letter ”e” can
also determine as the same with the collected standard marked as “S1L8”.

Q1 and S2
The questioned marked as “Q1L3” has the same serif of letter ”m” with the collected
standard marked as “S2L8”. The curve of the shoulders, the hump and the arcade of the
letter “m” is congruent also with the standard. While, the letter “u” to letter “c” cursive
writing of the victim indicates her habit that can be seen also on the standard collected.

The letter “c” also has the same blind loop with the standard collected. Lastly, the ending
stroke of the letter” h” is the same with the standard collected.

Q1 and S3
The questioned marked as “Q1L4” has the same with the collected standard marked as
“S3L3”.Showing the similarities of the diacritics and beautification on how the writer
writes the letter “t” and the open loop of the letter “h”. While the arcade and hump of the
letter “h” and crossbar of letter “t” can be determine the similarities of the both.

Q1 and S4
The questioned marked as “Q1L6” has the same with the collected standard marked as
“S4L5”. The way the writer writes of the letter “l” is in slanting. The starting stroke and
ending stroke of letter “w” is the same. The cursive connecting the letter “a” and “y” is the
same. The Loop of the writer on how she writes of the letter “y” is also the same. Lastly,
the ending stroke of letter “s” is also the same.

Q1 and S5
The questioned marked as “Q1L1” has the same with the collected standard marked as
“S5L2”.Considering that the beard of the writer on writing the letter “d” is congruent. The
eyeloop of the letter “e” is the same. The starting and ending stroke of letter “a” is also
the same. Lastly, the way the writer writes indicate the penlift while she writes the letter
“s” and the ending stroke also came out to be the same.

CONCLUSION:
The Question and Standard were WRITTEN BY THE SAME PERSON.

The original copy of this report is retained in this office for future reference.
