How To Read Alarm Logs - 5 Steps To 20

The 5-step document outlines how to ensure a site is ready for launch by checking cells, alarms, RSSI, VSWR, and RETs. Step 1 involves unlocking and enabling all cells to ensure proper fiber path. Step 2 checks for any active alarms. Step 3 looks at RSSI readings being above -113 and consistent across frequencies. Step 4 sets VSWR thresholds based on technology. And Step 5 requires RETs to be enabled for each frequency with a defined RET.

Steps to 20

By following the steps below, this ensures site is RF complete and ready for launch.
Step 1: Cells
Step 2: Alarms
Step 3: RSSI
Step 4: VSWR
Step 5: RETs

Step 1: Cells – All cells are unlocked and enable, this ensures proper fiber path

Step 2: Alarms‐ this ensures no active alarms on site
Pass:

Fail:

Step 3: RSSI‐ Ensure last reading is above ‐113 and values are consistent across like frequencies

Step 4: VSWR‐ New technology readings >16 db, legacy technology w/ position move >15 db, legacy technology not
moved >14 db.

Step 5: RETs‐ must be enabled and for every frequency in the node, a single RET needs to be defined
