CHAPTER IV

Architectural Programming

4.1 Spatial Organization

This section presents the charts and illustrations that will serve as diagrams and spatial

representations of the design. This will help analyze the spaces, its connections with each other,

and the importance of having it in the first place.

The spatial organization will show the different kinds of spaces required for the proposed

E-Sports Hub. It will also present the approximate area of each spaces and its relationship to

one another. The matrix diagram and a bubble diagram will be used in the proposed E-Sports

Hub.

A matrix diagram is a representation of the adjacencies of the spaces, and it also shows

the relation of each spaces to each other. It represents the necessity of each space if it will be

required to adjoin to another space. The zoning will also be classified in this kind of diagram.

A bubble diagram is a spatial diagram that represents the spaces in the shape of

bubbles. It also determines how large the area of a space by the size of the bubble.

A spatial programming will confirm the accuracy of the study and the appropriate design

of the spaces for the facility.

4.1.1 Spatial Identification

A spatial identification elaborates the spaces by identifying its probable users, their

function and specific roles in the establishment. Upon identifying the users and their purpose,

assigning spaces with regards to its users can be effortless.

4.1.1.1 Staffing Requirements

This section will explain the users of each department and their roles in the proposed

Multi-Plex and its component establishments.

A. Administrative Building

Front Office Department

 Front Office Manager

- A front office manager is the senior person in an office environment and

accountable for maintaining a professional work environment, staff supervision, and

administrative support. They shoulder a variety of responsibilities, often at the

discretion of the company owner.

 Front Desk Officer

- He/she acts as a liaison between clients and executive staff.

 Reservation Assistant

- He/she assists with the overall administrative functions.

 Front Office Cashier

- He/she handles all the guest billing and all of the guest expenditures.

 Records Manager

- A records manager oversees the management of electronic and/or paper-based

information and identify the most appropriate records management resources.

 Guest Service Agent

- The Guest Service Agent is responsible for taking reservations, greeting and

registering guests, providing outstanding guest service during their stay, and

settling the guest's account upon completion of their stay.

E-Sports Complex Division

 Executive Director

- Under direction, supervises the day-to-day operations of the commission.

- Under direction, acts on all matters pertaining to the general administration of the

Commission.

 Chief Administrative Officer (Budget Officer)

- Under direction, supervises all activities pertaining to the budget planning,

management and implementation.

 Project Development Officer

- Under direction, supervises the over-all formulation of policies and programs

pertaining to e-sports promotion and development.

Convention Center Division

 Executive Director

- Under direction, supervises the day-to-day operations of the commission.

 Chief Administrative Officer

- Under direction, acts on all matters pertaining to the general administration of the

Commission.

 Chief Administrative Officer (Budget Officer)

- Under direction, supervises all activities pertaining to the budget planning,

management and implementation.

 Special Advisor

- He/she is a person who gives advice, typically someone expert in a particular

field.

Accounting Department

 Chief Controller

- The chief controller is responsible for the company’s financial statements,

general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable,

budgeting, tax compliance, and various special analyses.

 Assistant Controller

- Assistant controller helps the chief controller in managing the company’s financial

statements.

 Auditor

- He/she is a person appointed and authorized to examine accounts and

accounting records, compare the charges with the vouchers, verify balance sheet

and income items and state the result.

 General Cashier

- General cashiers are responsible for performing monetary transactions. They

work with customers on a daily basis.

 Cashier

- A cashier works directly at a cash register, ringing up the customer’s purchases

and collecting their payment.

Human Resource Division

 Human Resource Director

- The human resource director possesses the responsibility for all people based

activity within an organization, both operational and strategic perspective.

 Assistant Human Resource Director

- Assistant human resource directors are the behind-the-scenes collaborators and

colleagues whose main job responsibilities are focused on helping human

resource directors and managers accomplish the human resource tasks.

 Public Relations Officer

- The public relations officer’s job is to supply information about a company or

organization.

 Payroll Clerk

- The payroll clerk is accountable for collecting timekeeping information,

incorporating a variety of deductions into a periodic payroll, and issuing pay and

pay-related information to employees.

Marketing and Sales Department

 Sales and Marketing Director

- The sales and marketing director is responsible for planning and implementing

sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long range,

targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties

personally or through subordinates.

 Sales Manager

- A sales manager’s tasks often include assigning sales territories, setting quotas,

mentoring the members of sales team, assigning sales training, building a sales

plan, and hiring and firing salespeople.

 Marketing Account Executives

client acquisition.

 Sales Supervisor

- A sales supervisor often has responsibilities in areas like work scheduling,

budgeting, hiring, and planning.

 Sales Agent / Clerks

- Sales agents are the one authorized or appointed by a manufacturer to sell or

distribute his products within a given territory.

Engineering and Security Department

 Chief Engineer

- A chief engineer is a senior engineer in an organization. Typically, they are in

charge of an engineering department, and duties vary considerably depending on

the industry.

 HVAC Control Systems Operators

- He/she is the personnel in-charge of maintaining and controlling the heating,

ventilation and air-conditioning systems of the building.

 Assistant Maintenance Engineers

- Assistant maintenance engineers undertake scheduled and breakdown

maintenance of engineering equipment or plants.

 Chief Security Officer

- A chief security officer is an organization’s senior most executive accountable for

the development and oversight of policies and programs intended for the

mitigation and/or reduction of compliance, operational, strategic, financial and

reputational security risks strategies relating to the protection of people,

intellectual assets and tangible property.

Housekeeping Department

 Executive Housekeeper

- The executive housekeeper coordinates between housekeeping crews to inspect

assigned areas to ensure standards are met.

 House Persons

- They are persons employed to perform housekeeping tasks.

B. E-Sports Arena

Operational Control and Supervision

 Chief Accountant

- Under direction, oversees financial transactions of the commission.

 Chief E-Sports and Games Regulation Officer

- Under direction, directs the overall operations of the division, analyzes systems

for sports promotions and development.

 Shout Casters

- Brings the hype of e-sports scene, just like in the traditional sports.

 E-sports Analyst

- Analyzes the game from start to finish.

C. Convention Center

including any stand-alone restaurants within the hotel property.

 Assistant Food and Beverage Director

- The assistant food and beverage director is responsible for managing the day to

day food and beverage operations.

 Restaurant Manager

- He/she deals with the customer’s service issues as well as to ensure that the

food quality coming out of the kitchen is the best.

 Banquet Manager

- He/she helps hire, train, manage, discipline and terminate staff. He also

determines the distribution of gratuities, usually built into the bill.

 Head Waiters

- A person who is in-charge of the wait staff in a restaurant and is often

responsible for taking reservations and seating guests.

 Mall Manager / Director

- The mall manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of mall management

including but not limited to leasing and tenant relations, business planning and

financial management and control of maintenance, inspection and safety

functions.

 Assistant Mall Manager

- The assistant mall manager is responsible for ensuring profitable mall operations

in accordance with management’s directives and income expectations.

 Secretary

- He/she is employed by an individual or in an office to assist with correspondence,

keep records, make appointments, and carry out similar tasks.

 Board of Directors

- The board of directors is a group of individuals that are elected to act as

representatives of the stockholders to establish corporate management related

policies and to make decisions on major company issues.

Leasing Department

 Leasing Manager

- The leasing manager is expected to keep occupancy of the properties they

oversee as full as possible.

 Assistant Leasing Manager

- The assistant leasing manager’s duty is to assist in drafting memos and/or

making phone calls to tenant related issues.

 Records Manager

- A records manager oversees the management of electronic and/or paper-based

information and identify the most appropriate records management resources.

 Clerks

- He/she is a person employed in an office to keep records and accounts and to

undertake other routine administrative duties.

- are often responsible for scheduling. This may include setting up travel,

meetings, speaking engagements and other appointments for the executives

they are assigned to work with.

- is someone who keeps financial records for a business, traditionally in the

form of ledgers or journals which are sometimes colloquially called “books.”

4.1.1.2 Space Identification

The proposed E-Sports Hub is a combination of different interests that will cater

E-sports, commercial, recreational, cultural, and tourism related activities that will bring a

lot of job opportunities and honor to the country. It will also bring knowledge, relaxation,

leisure, and healthy benefits among its users. This proposed E-Sports hub in Kawit,

Cavite will cater both local and foreign E-Sports and related events and tourists.

Upon the identification of its probable users, the proponent was able to identify the

facilities needed by the users in the proposed establishment. The spaces for the proposed E-
