Lesson 1: Course Overview

Activity 01:

Read the LDM Course Overview. Reflect on the overview by answering the
following questions. Write down your insights in your Study Notebook.

(1) What is the main delivery of this course?

The main delivery course is to provide assistance onto how to


deliver the learning process in the new normal. It is very essential to every
educator to be well-equipped to this kind of delivery mode for us to be
able to give quality education.

(2) How can this course help ensure that you will be able to deliver
quality instruction in the “new normal”?

This course will be a great help to ensure the delivery of quality


instruction for it helps teachers be prepared for this distant learning in this new
normal situation. It helps teachers to gain knowledge, skills and mindset that are
necessary in this new teaching and learning way.

(3) What are the two support mechanisms that will help you with
your learning in this course?

The two support mechanisms that will help me in my learning


in this LDM course are self-learning modules and collaborations
through the Learning Action Cells (LACs).
Activity 02:

I think my eagerness to learn this course for me to be able to apply and


help me as a teacher adapt the new normal education and to help achieve a successful
education for our learners.

course?

I can sustain my strength by simply maintaining my enthusiasm and energy to


do work despite of the hindrances that the world is facing right now.

Lesson 2: Organizing Your Learning Action Cell (LAC)

Activity 01:

Begin by refreshing your memory on the Learning Action Cell. Read DepEd Order No.
35 s. 2016 titled “The Learning Action Cell as the K to 12 Basic Education Program
School-Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of
Teaching and Learning.”

Once you’re done, answer the following questions. Write your responses and any
other ideas and reflections in your Study Notebook.

(1) Reflect on the objectives for conducting LAC sessions as listed in


DO 35, s. 2016. Rank the following objectives from easiest to the
most difficult to achieve.

5 To improve learning among students.

4 To nurture successful teachers.

3 To enable teachers to support each other to continuously


improve their content and pedagogical knowledge, practice, skills, and
attitudes.

(2) What are the top three challenges in having a successful LAC?
List down and elaborate.
- Slow to poor internet connection. Working from home with having a turtle-
like internet connection gives us extra challenge.

- Call outs from siblings sometimes hinders from listening the LAC session and
so as the undesirable noise.

- Household chores and other activities that has the same time with the
sessions. Work from home is very unusual yet very challenging.
