RATIONALE:
Possessing a clear delivery of words results to effective communication. Such, the BSED
second- year English language major students (proponents) from University of Southeastern Philippines
(USeP) saw the needs of reinforcement program in promoting effective communication with utilization of
Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT). Reinforcement plays an important role in how quickly a
behavior will be learned and the overall strength of the resulting response (Cherry,2019). Reinforcement
goes with mobilization; we need people, and resources ready to move or act to see the result of our action.
In the light of education, the proponents propose to apply reinforcement and mobilization to
speaking, focusing on the teaching of correct pronunciation for the struggling student speakers in La
Filipina National High School (LFNHS).
Back in year 2012, LFNHS launched the program Reinforcement and Mobilize Speech Improvement
(RAMSI). This program has helped its student recipients in addressing their speech problems especially in
pronunciation. Sadly, the program gradually lost its function as there were no one left to spearhead the
program.
To heed to the call, the proponents plan to extend their helping hands by reviving and continuing the
program’s vibrancy. It will be accompanied with introducing technological pedagogy-- utilization of speech
and computer laboratory and software application like ‘pronuncian’ . The planned one-hour speaking
reinforcement activity is set to schedule once a week, which runs from April to May 2020.
OBJECTIVES
1. To conduct a speech improvement session (proper pronunciation and enunciation, appropriate oral
position) for the RAMSI student recipients in the La Filipina National High School.
2. To reinforce RAMSI student recipients with necessary skills in proper pronunciation and enunciation.
3. To integrate ICT along the delivery of instruction.
EXPECTED OUTPUTS
1. Conducted reinforcement reading sessions for the RAMSI student recipients in the La Filipina National
High School ; and
2. Reinforce RAMSI student recipients with necessary skill in phonetics and phonology (enunciation and
pronunciation.
