Used for relatively less temprature. Mostly used

1 PPGL 60 for alkalis, acids and salts as well as large number 920 1200
of organic solvents. Not suitable for
concentrated oxidising acids..

2 PPH 90 Similar to PPGL but can be used for Higher 920 2600
temperatures upto 90 deg C

Resistant to most solutions of acids, alkalies and

3 U-PVC 60 salts and organic compounds miscible with 1420 1350
water. Unsuitable for aromatic and chlorinated
hydrocarbons.

4 C-PVC 90 Resitance similar to UPVC but can be used at 1420 6700

temperatures upto 90 deg C

Resistant to acids, solutions of salts, aliphatic,

aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, alcohols
5 PVDF 120 and halogens. Conditionally suitable for ketones, 1780 25000
esters, ethers, organic bases and alkaline
solutions.

Notes:

1) This is just a general guide for thermoplactic liner selection for costing. Actual selection shall be based on the chemical
resistance chart supplied by the thermoplastic liner vendor, design temperature of the service and detailed chemical
composition of the fluid.
2) All the rates are applicable for 4 mm Thk liner only.

There are three main groups of resin:

1 Polyester resins = They are easy to use, fast curing, and tolerant of temperature and catalyst extremes. Types are Orthophthalic polyester resin and
Isophthalic polyester resin (superior water resistance is desirable)

2 Epoxy resins = For the ultimate strength. In addition to increased strength properties, epoxies also generally outperform other resins like polyester and vinyl ester for
dimensional stability and increased bonding with other materials.

3 Vinyl Ester resins = Vinyl Ester Resin is considered to be a hybrid of polyester and epoxy resins, they have higher elongation and corrosion properties. They are highly resistant to
acids, alkalis, solvents, hypo chlorites and peroxides.Type are bisphenol-A

This has the higher HDT of all the above and better
VinylEster-Derakane corrosive resistance to many chemicals. Hence, is a
