• Week 27 – 35:
o Lecture: LG 1.22, Thu. 3pm – 4pm.
o Lab sessions: LG 0.07, Thu. 9am – 11am.

Aims
1. To enable you to gain a thorough understanding of
logistics and supply chain management modelling
at a local, regional and international level.
2. To equip you with sophisticated simulation methods
to tackle complex and highly dynamic logistics and
supply chain management problems.
3. To enable you to model and solve practical logistics
and supply chain management problems using the
simulation computer package, SIMUL8.

Learning Outcomes
1. Formulate and solve simulation models
arising in logistics and supply chain
management.
2. Present the results of logistics and
supply chain management models and
solutions in the form of written reports.
3. Gain an understanding of using SIMUL8
to solve logistics and supply chain
management problems.

Things to Note
• You are expected to attend all lectures
and lab sessions to be successful at the
assessments.
• You are expected to catch up on any
work if you miss a lecture. It is your
responsibility to read through the lecture
notes and ensure you understand
them.
• Raise questions if in doubt.

Things to Note (Cont.)

• Other responsibilities include completing the lab
questions not completed in lab sessions, and to
consult books given in the reference list as and when
deemed necessary.
• You are expected to read your emails regularly
concerning matters of the unit.
• Any information pertinent to the administration of the
unit will be given out at the beginning of each
lecture. If you miss the information, it is your
responsibility to check with your classmates or contact
me (LG 1.34, [email protected]) in order to
obtain any relevant information that you may have
missed.
