The fastest and easiest method is to install WordPress on any of your hosting accounts
by Quickinstall powered by Mojo Marketplace.

You can install WordPress on HostGator’s server in various ways.

• Manual (advanced user)


• Quick Install (default for the beginner)

Login to your HostGator web panel. Click on QuickInstall under services/Software:

On the left side of the page QuickInstall, you need to select icon “WordPress’. In 2018,
HostGator also offers services costing you a lot to Install & simply setup a Theme. We
would like to suggest not taking that option as our guide will help you to set up
everything for free. (It’s easy, simple & you don’t need to spend a lot of time/money)

On the next page, under the drop-down menu, select the domain which you had
purchased. This domain will be installing WordPress now.

Here you can make your decision where you would install WordPress. Either at the root
of the directory or under the subdomain. For example:
• Root directory: https://www.gliendesign.com

• Subdirectory: https://www.gliendesign.com/home

If you are new to HostGator, a baby plan or above will allow as many domains as you want.
Which means you are able to host multiple websites all on a single hosting package.
eg. Bluehost is an alternative that gives your free domain when you buy their hosting and
they are preferred partner of WordPress itself. However, Bluehost doesn’t allow you to
host multiple domains.

Click on NEXT button.
Take note that for Admin user try not to use “Admin” as username as it will be
considered a security risk.

Check the box next to the Terms of Service Agreement.


Before clicking Install, Make sure you have checked all information to be correct.
Below is how my settings look like:

After clicking the Install button, while you wait for WordPress to install (which takes
up to 15 mins). WordPress might try to upsell you, we ask you to refrain from buying as
we will show you how simple it is to do a premium themes and we have an easy tutorial
on the setting up part.

Next, the progress bar appears to inform your progress of completing the installation.

While setting up your WordPress blog by Hostgator Quick Install, there will be upselling
of other relevant products like add-on themes and professional installation.
