1. Mention The Noticed External Parts Of A Desktop Computer


The Parts
 Monitor
 Speaker
 Mouse
 VGA (Video Graphics Array)
 Keyboard
 System Unit.

2. Mention The Function Of Each Noticed Parts In QN 1 Above.

The Functions
 Monitor
-Displays the information on the screen.

 Speaker
-To produce sound waves.

 Mouse
-Controlling all the cursor navigations on screen.

 The VGA
-Transferring of video signals from the system unit to the monitor.

 KEYBOARD
-For typing or inputting of characters for use in the computer.

 SYSTEM UNIT
-It houses and protects all the internal components of a computer.

3. Outline The Steps Necessary For Turning On A Desktop Computer.

THE STEPS
 Connect the VGA from the system unit to the monitor
 Plug in any necessary input devices, example the mouse into the system unit
 Plug the power source and plug in the power cable to the system unit and monitor
 Switch on the power source
 Switch on the monitor by pressing its power button.
 Switch on the system unit by pressing its power button.

4. Mention the Possible Hardware Issues And Their Possible Solutions.

 The Hard Drive Was Not Found.


Possible cause
-The Molex cable was either disconnected or has a defect
-The SATA cable was either disconnected or has a defect
-The hard drive is either not present inside or has malfunctioned

Possible solutions
-Plug in the Molex cable or if defected replace it.
-Plug in the SATA cable or if defected replace it.
-If hard drive is not present, put in the hard drive or if malfunctioned replace it.

 The Black Screen Issue/Nothing Is Displayed.


Possible cause
-The RAM is not present or if connected then not properly connected by its pins
-The RAM could have a faulty issue
-The RAM is not compatible with the system’s expansion slots

Possible solutions
-If not present, plug it in else connect it properly till the pins hold
-If damaged replace it.
-Buy a compatible RAM that can be read and be supported by the system.

 CPU And Hard Drive Fan Failure


Possible cause
-The fan was disconnected from the motherboard
-The fan is damaged thus can’t work effectively

Possible solutions
-Is to simply connect the Fan properly back to the motherboard
-Replace the Fan in case of any faulty issues for proper functioning.
