⎕ Comparing study options in Finland
Studyinfo.fi service provides information on all higher education study programmes in Finland.

⎕ Eligibility for higher education studies


You can apply for the bachelor’s studies with upper secondary school level qualification that provides
eligibility for higher education studies in the country in question or with a prior bachelor’s or master’s degree.
If you are graduating during the application process, you can apply with a temporary certificate. For the
master’s studies, you need a suitable higher education degree and at least 2 years of subsequent work
experience in the relevant field. Please see details on our website www.xamk.fi/eligibility.

⎕ Tuition fees
If you are not a citizen of an EU/EEA country, you might be required to pay tuition fees for the studies
conducted in English. Check your liability to pay before applying! At Xamk, the tuition fee for bachelor’s
studies is 6000 euro / academic year and for master’s studies 7000 euro / academic year. Our scholarship
scheme rewards you for good progress in studies with a 50% refund on the paid fee. Also other scholarships

⎕ Application form and required documents


Submit your application during the application period on Studyinfo.fi. Note that the application closes on the
last application day at 3 pm Finnish time. If your qualification has been completed outside Finland, please
attach copies of your final or temporary qualification certificate, work certificates (for master’s studies) and
document exempting you from tuition fees, if applicable. If the original document is not written in English,
Finnish or Swedish, please attach a copy of an official translation of the document as well.

⎕ Check the admission criteria


The student selection in degree programmes in English may be based on pre-tasks, entry exams and/or
interviews. Check the programme-specific instructions at Xamk at www.xamk.fi/entrance-examinations.
To some degree programmes it is also possible to apply with SAT test results instead of taking the entry
exam: www.xamk.fi/sat.

⎕ Be prepared for the admission notice: plan your finances and other practical matters
Find out about the requirements (means of support, insurance) for a student residence permit on the website
of Finnish Immigration Service at www.migri.fi/studying_in_finland. Student housing: please see information
on housing in Kouvola at www.kouvolanasunnot.fi/opiskelijat/students and in Mikkeli at www.moas.fi.

Confirm the offered study place and enrol as student according to instructions given in the admission letter.
Notices of admission are sent by email. You can find all instructions for new students on our website
www.xamk.fi/new-student.
