Good Construction Practice-6

Upon constructing the first 1.2 m of masonry foundation walls, formwork is added for vertical tie-columns up to the plinth level. The tie-columns and plinth beam are then cast, with additional reinforcement placed around any openings. Backfill with low-moisture soil is compacted up to the plinth level. Next, a sill masonry wall is constructed above the plinth, with extra reinforcement around door and window openings.
