18th December 2020 Child’s name: ………………………………..

Dear Parents/Carers

I know that you have worked to keep your child safe during this last term for which I thank you. I
am sure that you appreciate that our staff have worked tirelessly to keep the school a safe place
to be, that your child has been happy and also making sure that the teaching has, as always, been
outstanding in every respect here in school. I have passed on your thanks to staff.

School has played their part in working with Public Health England and will continue to do so up
until the 24th December. Please read these details below.

Public Health England

Public Health England have asked schools to remain “on call” for the first six days of the Christmas
holidays to help with contact tracing. The implications for this are:
 Schools will remain ‘contactable’ so that they can assist with contact tracing where necessary
 For the six days from the last day of teaching in school, schools will be asked to assist with
contact tracing where a member of staff or a pupil test positive. This is because that
individual might have been infectious whilst at school.
 The last day of teaching is 18th December, the six days when schools remain contactable ends
on 24th December.

Please email Mrs Parfitt [email protected] or Mrs Burnsall

[email protected] should you have a child who tests positive for Covid-19 during
the first week of the Christmas break. You will need to include the following information in your
email:

 Name of child
 Class or Year group
 Symptoms and the date they started
 Date of positive test

Nativity
After a year of difficulty, we hope to share with you a glimmer of light and
hope. You will be pleased to hear that there will be no social distancing in
the stable this year.

On a dark starry night, all was peaceful until . . . . . a little lamb decided to
run away. Where will he go and what will he discover? Watch our Nativity
on the school website to find out more.
Fundraising
 On 13th November we invited children and staff to come to school wearing
yellow or spots to raise money for Children in Need. Together we raised
£271.90.
 Poppies and other merchandise for Remembrance Day were also on sale in
November, another great amount was raised, £243.21
 Our annual Christmas Jumper Day raised £120.00 for Save the Children.

Thank you for your kind donations.

Milk
If you pay for your child’s milk, the cost for January to April is £12.00. Please make a cash
payment for this at the school office.

Please remember to look on these sites to see the exciting things that your child is
doing in school.

After School Clubs

We continue to run these and urge you to return the form as we return to school as places go very
quickly in our popular clubs.

Reading River
Year 1 to Year 6 children have an exciting reading task to complete over the break, enjoy
encouraging or sharing this with your child. I’m sure we will see our usual high standard of effort
when it is returned in January.

Swimming – Year 3
Swimming lessons at Eccleshill Pool will commence for Year 3 on Thursday 14th January.
Please send your child to school with a towel and a swimming costume/shorts on this
day.

We break up for the Christmas holidays today and return to school on Monday 4th January 2021.
I hope you all have a wonderful time this Christmas.

Yours sincerely

Mrs C Parfitt
