Step 2 Directions: Meet with both your University Supervisor and Site-Supervisor to get input on your strengths and goals. Reflect on supervisor feedback and
evidence gathered during your teacher preparation program that identified your areas of strength.
I got a lot of constructive feedback from both my Site-Supervisor and University Supervisor. I reviewed my strengths with both of them and they
confirmed that they saw me working on those skills effectively. My University Supervisor mentioned that she sees the importance of shifting a class into a
growth mindset regime. She stated that the power of yet is influential among students. I am glad she shared this with me and can not wait to try it out for
myself. Both my supervisors shared with me that learning is ongoing and that in my career I will have to continue to learn to grow as an educator.
Step 3 Directions: Reflect on supervisor feedback and evidence gathered during your teacher preparation program that identified needed growth areas.
Areas that I need to work on are helping students with things that are not thought of with lesson planning and extending lessons for students. I spoke
with my on-site supervisor and she mentioned that when teaching kindergarten we need to take a step back and help them with fine motor skills. They need
help with social and emotional learning. Students can benefit from having a strong supportive teacher. I often found myself forgetting to remind students how
to hold a pencil and scissors. These foundational skills are very important and I recognize that now. Furthermore, I need to work on making sure that I
challenge those students that need it. I need to plan for students that finish early and provide them with an opportunity to flourish in their learning. I will
continue to look for ways to improve these areas of weakness.
