My study plan is reflected on my basic abilities and the goals I want to

achieve through studying at the Graduate Institute of Automation and Control.


My research interest background is in the field of artificial intelligence based
control automation. I am currently a lecturer at ITS joining the Embendded &
Cyber Physical System Laboratory and I am also part of the Center for
Excellence in Control and Automotive Systems. Previously, I had graduated
undergraduate from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) and
a master from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in the same
department, namely Engineering Physics. I have done some research related
to this field so that in my study plan I want to develop novelty methods during
my study. Research topics related to robots based on image data-based
observations are still a challenging and much needed research topic especially
in my country. One of them is the problem of rice plant pests. One of the pests
that often attack rice plants is the sparrow (Figure 1). Where the sparrows eat
rice ore. This bird can consume seeds as much as 10% of its body weight.
Based on the research that has been carried out as a result of bird attack, rice
production has decreased by 30-50%. Besides the challenges, the objects that
are screened are quite small as well as the limited number of images used to
build a limited number of datasets. Apart from this research topic, I am also
very interested in research related to industrial robots and autonomous
vehicles. My plan in the first year, apart from taking courses that support my
research, namely Artificial Intelligence for Robotics, Artificial Intelligence for
Autonomous Car, and other related subjects, I also plan to do research from
semester 1. With the research data to be taken and facilities Research at the
GIAC Automation and Control Lab makes sense that every year I can produce
published papers. In addition, I chose Taiwan as my study destination, which
is an advanced education system and has a high working tempo so that it will
maintain the productivity of the research I will do. Taiwan as a country with
three years successively producing the largest electronic component in the
world makes my attraction to study in Taiwan. In addition, scholarships from
campuses in Taiwan are sufficient to cover the necessities of life during
college. Especially the facilities and research that is being carried out at the
Automation and Control Laboratory where Professor Ricky is in the opportunity
for me to be able to do research that is able to produce quality methods so as
to produce quality publications as well. Thus and thank you for my study plan,
hopefully it will be a consideration for the acceptance of my study application.
