Winter Break!

It’s the first day of Winter Break and time to get ready for a holiday of
reading. Take time today to visit the library, or choose books using the
library’s Libby app. Search Tumblebooks or National Geographic Kids to
pick out books that you would like to read. Visit the library website or
our Instagram to see some recommendations.
Go for a walk in nature. Use your senses to discover what
is around you. Bring a little notebook and jot down what
you see, hear, feel and smell. Or draw a picture of
something interesting you see.
Winter is here! Celebrate with one of these books. Use Tumble
Search on Tumblebooks to search winter. You will find a list of
wintery books like I Have to Go! By Robert Munsch and Marianne’s
Winter Wonderland. This is a playlist of winter books.

For Grade 6 and 7 students: If you are a fan of survival stories, try
Lost in the Backyard on Teen Book Cloud. This is on my reading
list this holiday.
Deck the halls!
Add some decorations around your home. Make snowflakes,
garland or add pictures.

Learn how to make a 3D snowflake.

Check out Art Hub for Kids. They have a playlist of winter
pictures that you can draw. Visit this website with an adult to
choose a video.

Here are two stories with decorations.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

by an author you like?

My goal is to read 100 children’s books. I
