    Objectives:

    At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:

    A. Effectively imitate a repeated rhythmic pattern and expressive movement to the song
    B. Sing a Visayan folksong and clap the rhythmic pattern.
    C. Perform basic rhythmic pattern using home gadgets.

    Subject Matter:

    A. Topic: Rhythmic Pattern (Grade 4 level)


    B. Listening and singing activity (Mamugon Ako- Aklanon Folksong)
    C. Materials: bamboo sticks, kitchen utensils( eg; spoon, canister, jar)

    Assessment/ Procedure:

    A. Show some pictures of a pattern that can be found anywhere in home (eg; pattern of the
    sofa cloth, bed sheets, dress etc.)
    B. Tell them to observe how the repetition in the lines and shape formed the designs
    C. Connect and explain to them how it formed a pattern and relate it to “Rhythm” in music.
    D. Create a simple rhythmic pattern and perform it to them and teach the rhythmic syllables.
    E. Ask them to find any house friendly tools as it serves as their instruments (eg; spoon and
    fork, bamboo sticks, canister etc.)
    F. Play a Visayan folksong entitled “Mamugon Ako” instruct them to perform a rhythmic
    ostinato and rhythmic activities such as using home gadgets or resources that can be
    found in their respective home.
    G. Allow the students to choose an individual movement or a series of movements to
    express his or her interpretation of the song.
    H. Make sure that they are imitating the correct rhythmic pattern on cue.
