Interface and History File Options: Leadtec
Interface and History File Options: Leadtec
This document provides a brief summary of the interfaces offered by the Leadtec Shop Floor
Control System (Leadtec). Those entries indicated as standard are part of Leadtec and are not
specific to any third party system.
Except as noted, all files are flat, fixed record sequential files containing uncompressed ASCII
data (uncompressed EBCIDIC data on iSeries platforms). Some files are also supported in
comma-separated value (CSV) format.
In addition to the following interfaces Leadtec and the EtonSelect UPS system are fully
integrated. Cuts, styles and employees are uploaded to EtonSelect automatically from Leadtec
and single unit transactions entered through Eton terminals are processed in realtime through
Leadtec. All of this processing occurs in a completely transparent manner to the Eton operators
and functions no different than if the transactions were entered through Leadtec realtime
terminals.
1. Production Downloads
Production downloading is designed to allow front-end systems to load work order data into
Leadtec. Downloads can be performed as often as desired throughout the day.
• Work Orders – Work Orders (“cuts” in Leadtec) with or without a breakdown of bundles.
Bundles can also be added to an existing work order or deleted via this interface. (This
interface can either be in fixed or CSV format).
• Customer Orders – Customer Orders provide the ability to track multiple work orders
under a single reference number.
• Rate Overrides - These entries allow front-end systems to either override style rates to
use for each job by bundle or to send information for Leadtec to automatically compute
an override rate for specified jobs on each bundle.
• Cut Factors - These entries are used by the Flexible Rate option to automatically
compute rates for jobs based on a series of predefined criteria using these rate factors.
• FR Requirements - These records are used to define each of the Fire Retardant items
that must be identified by vendor lot number during the manufacture of a mattress. This

optional processing conforms to a Federal mandate imposed on mattress
manufacturers.
BlueCherry- This production interface (CSV format) allows the BlueCherry system to download
work orders into Leadtec at user specified times.
2. Production Upload
Production uploading is designed to provide front-end systems with production data in either
real-time fashion (i.e., at user-specified times during the day) or in batch mode once per day.
Depending on the interface option users can either specify the job(s) at which production is
recorded or default to the last job in the style.
• Standard Production Upload (Real-time) - This interface is designed for uploading production
data at user-specified times during the day. Records are accumulated for each bundle
scan at user-specified jobs. This interface can basically be utilized by any front-end
system with the ability to map data from Leadtec.
• Movex by Intentia – The Movex interface contains information for each completed bundle
when the last job in the style is processed.
• Standard Interplant Transfers - This feature allows inter-plant transfers of cuts on which
work has started. This enables a subset of the operations to be done at a site other than
the originating plant while keeping accumulated cut data in-tact, e.g. operator and cost
data. An option also facilitates the return of direct labor costs to the originating plant.
3. Payroll Interfaces
The payroll interfaces provide for initializing, uploading or analysis of payroll information
gathered on Leadtec.
• Standard Daily Pay - A daily file containing the results of payroll processing on Leadtec can
be uploaded or processed by an ODBC compliant program. This file contains summary
total pay, extra pay transactions and detailed IPRs (time segment records).
• Standard Gross Payroll - This upload interface provides all gross payroll information
collected on Leadtec to any net payroll on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. This user has
various options on how much or how little data is sent.
• ADP - The ADP upload interface is specific to clients utilizing ADP as their net payroll
provider. A long list of options can be utilized in defining how the data is summarized.
2
Leadtec Interface Options
• Paychex - This upload interface conforms to the Paychex Time0002 Import File. The
user has the capability of selecting various gross payroll data items extracted directly
from the Leadtec weekly Earnings Transaction File.
• Paycom - This upload interface conforms to the Paycom TAI02 Import File. The user has
the capability of selecting various gross payroll data items extracted directly from the
Leadtec weekly Earnings Transaction File.
• – There are various production history file options that allow recording
Production History
production information for upload to other sites or for analysis.
• IPR History - A history file containing all IPRs (time segment records) for each employee.
• Bundle Operation History - This file provides the completion status of each job for each
bundle in the system, including the operator that worked on each job.
• Payment by Quality - This file consists of all daily transaction information that occurred by
use of the "pay by quality level" terminal transaction.
• Job History -
The Job History file records the labor type, hours worked, SAH and amount
earned by job for each operator summarized by week.
• Bundle Quantity Changes - This file can be used to record any changes to bundle quantities
that are done directly from the operator‛s real-time terminals.
• Actual Cut Quantity- This transaction records the actual cut quantity of a cut that was
released into Leadtec. If specified, it is written when the first bundle of the cut is scanned
at a real-time terminal.
• Action History - Users can record employee personnel actions by type and date.
• External Timeclock– This function allows any external timeclock system to interface with
Leadtec in a realtime manner as long as the transmitted timeclock data conforms to the
interface record structure.
