4. Supported Card readers

4.1. PC/SC compatible readers
We support any PC/SC ("Personal Computer/Smart Card") compatible readers.
Most OS’s support PC/SC out of the box and in most cases, for None Pin Pad Readers, there will be no need for
installing additional drivers.
For more details about PC/SC protocol you please access PC/SC Workgroup.

4.2. Pin Pad Readers

For Pin Pad Readers we rely on the part of PC/SC standard dealing with secure pin entry capabilities, which
assume some CCID protocol features.

Depending on your operating system and system type you may or you may not need to install extra CCID
PC/SC driver for your Pin Pad reader.
There is a need for install extra CCID PC/SC drivers on some Windows operating systems and on Mac OS older
then Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.
You may need to check and download the reader’s drivers from the manufacturer website and install it before
you can properly use the reader.
If you don’t have enough system rights to install new software on your system you may need to ask your
system administrator for support.

You must be aware that if it is for the first time you plugin the Pin Pad reader in your computer it may take a
while until the operator system will install the corresponding driver or a generic driver for your reader.
So please check that your device is ready to use.
