Physical Education and Health

SELF ASSESSMENT

Introduction
Understanding the importance of engaging in moderate to vigorous
physical activity is considerably great habit in achieving good health and fitness,
but it doesn’t end there. As you engage in physical activity you were able to meet
and mingle with other people, making you more sociable hence, resulting for your
better social well- being.
In this module you will be encouraged to display initiative in organizing
fitness activity.

Direction
The activities to be undertaken here are all self- initiated, try be honest as
much as you can. In the application you will be asked to prepare a proposed
fitness program that can be adopted by others.

Participates in an organized event that addresses health / fitness issue and

The pictures clearly suggest the different fitness activities that you can join
in. From the pictures select to activities that suited you well and explain how can
you maximize the benefit of joining such activities.

Activity 2: SELF CHECK

1. The Municipal Government of your town intiated a “Run for A Casue”, a 5 km


fun run that should be attended by all government employees and students of
the locality. How would you accept the invitation.

2. As you go to your Rural Health Unit, you learned that many of your townmates
are suffering from cardio- vascular diseaese and diabetes, How can you help in
addressing thoise problems.

Abstraction

Activity 3: LET’S KNOW THIS AND THAT.

Prior to this activity, you were given the ideas about different physical
activities that can contribute greatly in health and fitness. You can engage
in different activities that promote health and fitness. Promoting health and
fitness is a worldwide concern. As a concern individual you can also
initiate different physical health and fitness activities that other can
participate in. Here are some of the suggested health and fitness activities
that you can initiate.

`1. Fun Run for a Cause- this is possible through partnership with LGUs,
Private Organization.

2. Zumba for a Cause- this is zumba dance exercise that can be held in a
strategic area of your community so that it can encourage more
participants.

3. Anti-Smoking Campaign- there are laws prohibiting the smoking in all


public places, but the implementation of these laws sometimes is
considerably weak, with that you can initiate campaign in order to
strengthen or strictly implement the anti-smoking law.

4. Sports Competition- This can be possible in cooperation with the


Sangguninang Kabataan Officials. You as member of the Katipunan in your
Barangay can ask the Sangguninag Kabataan to hold different sports
activities .

Application

Activity 4: LET’S DO IT

1. Prepare a letter of request address to the Sangguniang Kabataan Officials to


hold a Sports Competition in your Barangay.

2. Prepare your own Program of Activities of ZUMBA Dance clinic to be


participated by young ones like you. Make this program with the help of your
friends who are also willing to cooperate in this important endeavor.
Post Test:

Give one Fitness/Health activity that suited to your community and explain how
you can contribute in the success of such activity.
