The Importance of The Integration of The Spirit of Nationalism
The Importance of The Integration of The Spirit of Nationalism
Do you believe in the saying, “No man is island?” Man by nature is a social
animal because as a single being, he is frail. Being in groups and tribes gives him more
strength for survival and more influence. Man is becoming more and more structured in
terms of culture with the advent of civilization. People who speak the same language,
share the same ethnicity or religion, or happen to be like-minded politically, or some
combination of those things, may want to have their own country and a government of
their choice, which reflects the things they wish to maintain, prioritize, and develop.
Nationalism is the devotion and loyalty to the nation. Nationalism exist because
nations exist, and it is because of the need to own land and water and control resources
and people, a materialistic focus which is what is behind all wars, slavery, poverty,
greed, fear, hate, sex crimes and really divisions in general. The independence and
freedom we are experiencing today are by product of undying nationalism forefathers.
The Philippines brought a crucial turn in our history. The battles they fought to gain the
freedom we have means giving up their own lives. The tears and blood to reclaim what
was and is rightfully ours.
The spirit of nationalism in our country has long been forgotten by many. It is
evident in the way that people think and act. As always, we are influenced by foreign
culture, thus, again and again losing our own identity as Filipinos and as a nation.
The integration of the spirit of nationalism in addressing any social issues, may it
be political, religious, or even economic would mean bringing back the sense of bravery
and unity of the people to withstand and resolve such issues. The spirit of nationalism
would fire the embers of the past and light the Filipino’s way to a better nation. There
are current issues faced by our country today just like the corruption, war on drugs, and
the most current is the pandemic. Having this kind of situation or problem is not easy.
But because of nationalism, people become one to find solutions to solve the said issue.
Nationalism is very important because it makes people unite. No matter how big and
how hard the problem is, if there is a spirit of nationalism it would be easy to overcome
those challenges. If people would once again embrace the spirit of nationalism, it would
mean understanding each one’s differences to come up with better plans and platforms
for a stronger and effective nation.
Nationalism is commitment to the country and allegiance. Nationalism exists because nations
exist, and it is a materialistic fixation that is behind all wars, slavery, poverty, greed, fear, hatred,
sex crimes and genuine divisions in general because of the desire to own land and water and
regulate wealth and people.
The freedom and liberty that we are witnessing today are the result of the forefathers of undying
nationalism. A critical turn in our history came from the Philippines. The fights they fought to win
our independence meant giving up their own lives. To regain what was and is rightfully ours the
tears and the blood. Some have long since forgotten the spirit of nationalism in our country. It is
obvious in the way individuals think and behave. We are as always, influenced by foreign
culture, thus losing our own identities as Filipinos and as a country over and over again.
The integration of the nationalist spirit in resolving any social problems, whether political,
religious or even economic, would mean bringing back the people's sense of courage and
solidarity to withstand and overcome these problems. The spirit of nationalism will spark the
embers of the past and illuminate the Filipino's road to a better country. There are current
problems facing our nation today, such as corruption, the drug war, and now the pandemic is
the most recent one. Nationalism is very important because it makes people unite. No matter
how big and how hard the issue is if there is a spirit of nationalism it will be easy to solve those
challenges. If people would once again embrace the spirit of nationalism, it would mean
respecting each one’s differences to come up with better plans and platforms for a stronger and
successful country.
