I. Objectives:

DepEd SOCCSKSARGEN Region, with DepEd Sarangani Division as host,

will hold the Pre-Opening of School Year Regional Launch on September 28,
2020 to achieve the following objectives:

 To raise public awareness of preparations and readiness on opening of

classes
 To highlight positive developments and engagements of schools, SDOs,
RO and stakeholders for the opening of classes
 To recognize the contribution of teachers, learners, parents, partners,
and DepEd personnel in education continuity in the new normal

II. Theme: Handang Isip, Handa Bukas!

As the Department implements the Basic Education-Learning Continuity

Plan, the theme of the program will be anchored on reinforcing the idea of
Handang Isip, Handa Bukas!

We believe that education should continue to prepare us for the future, but
it takes open hearts and minds, and the concerted effort of the government,
public and private institutions, and families to help today's generation of
learners receive the education they deserve, especially during this crisis.

We are one community. Together, we move forward as one. Kasali lahat.

Kasama lahat. Para sa lahat.

III. Key Messages

The program must be aligned to the following key messages:

 Angkop na Proteksyon. DepEd continuously collaborates with the Inter-

Agency Task Force, health authorities, parents, teachers, and learners in
creating their plans to ensure the overall wellness and safety of the
academic community.

 Patuloy na Edukasyon. DepEd helps teachers and learners continue

education with accessible, alternative learning modalities and guides them
through the new normal for education.

 Mabisang Aksyon. DepEd provides timely and relevant initiatives to

secure the future of education amid the crisis with the help of the local
government units, business sector, nongovernment organizations, and the
civil society groups.

IV. Proposed Program of Activities

The virtual launch is comprised of three parts:

1. Preliminaries
This is the opening part that includes the singing of the Philippine
National Anthem, Prayer, singing of Region and Division Hymns, and
recitation of the Region’s Quality Policy.

The time before the preliminaries may be utilized by the host SDO for
showcasing culture and local & regional talents.

2. Program Proper
This will illustrate the big picture of the preparations and readiness of
our schools, SDOs and Region for the opening of classes for School Year
2020-2021.

3. Open Forum
This is a Question & Answer part, where questions raised by the viewing
public are answered by the concerned officials or individuals.

A team shall be organized to screen and select the questions to be asked

by the moderator to the panelist.

The idea of the program’s flow is to showcase to the public the

readiness of our schools, SDOs and Region and the cooperation of
stakeholders, including LGUs, teachers, parents, and learners.

Deliverables and Tasking

The Regional Management Team headed by the RD, co-chaired by the ARD
and the SDS of the host SDO with the ASDS and RO & host SDO chiefs as
members will oversee the general direction of the program.
Different committees from the RO and host SDO shall also be created and
organized to perform tasks to ensure the successful conduct of the activity.

The following are the TORs of the RO and host SDO:
