Fire Protection System Comprises of the following

 Internal Fire Hydrant System (Wet Riser/Down Comer System)


 External fire hydrant System
 Automatic Sprinkler System
 First Aid Fire Extinguisher
 Underground and Overhead/Terrace Overhead Water Storage Tank
 Fire Fighting Pumps Located at Fire Pump Room near the Fire Storage Tank

Internal File Hydrant System:


 Internal Fire Hydrant System shall be designed as per IS 3844 : 1989
 Internal fire hydrant System shall be provided to protect the Building Internally
and provided for every 100 sqm of plinth area
 Internal fire hydrant System comprising of following :-
o Electric Driven Fire Hydrant Pump/ Terrace Pump
o Wet Riser/ Down Comer (100/150 dia fire pipe)
o Landing Valves
o First Aid Fire Hose Real
o Hose Pipe (63 mm dia z 15 m long)
o Branch Pipe
o Fire Man Axe
o Orifice Plate

External Fire Hydrant System:


 External Fire Hydrant System shall be designed as per IS 13039 : 1991
 The External fire hydrant (Yard Hydrant) shall cover the entire building Externally
 Yard Hydrant shall be placed/ located at 30/45m/60m as per building hazard/
riser
 Minimum 2m & Maximum 15mm away from building
 External fire hydrant consist of following :-
o External Fire Ring Main
o Yard Hydrant/ Landing Valve
o External Fire Hose Cabinet
o RPL Hoses
o Branch Pipe
o Valve with Valve Chamber
o 4/3 way fire brigade inlet connection to external ring main

Fire Fighting Pump:


 Fire Fighting Pump shall be provided as per NBC 2005 part IV/ IS 1501-2002
 Fire Fighting Pump set comprising of following :-
o Electrical driven hydrant pump
o Electrical driven Sprinkler Pump
o Jockey pump for hydrant & sprinkler system
o Standby diesel driven fire pump
o Terrace booster Pumps

Sprinkler System:
 Sprinkler System shall be provided for fire fighting in building
 Sprinkler System shall be designed & provided as per NFPA-13 & IS 15105:2002
 Sprinkler system consist of following :-
o Dedicated Electrical driven sprinkler pump
o Sprinkler head
o Sprinkler piping network (riser/ header/ branch line)
o Isolation valve & flow switch
o Test & drain arrangement
 in Automatic Sprinkler system, Sprinkler head are provided through out the area
to be protected at specified locations and filled with water supply lines
parmanently charged with water under specified pressure.
 The sprinkler operate at pre-determined temperature to discharge water over
the affected area below and provide an adequate distribution of water to control
or extinguisher fire.

Fire Water Curtain System:


 The fire water curtain system is designed to prevent the fire form propogating
into adjacent area in case of a fire incident.
 The system will encapsulate the fire between the water curtain sections in order
to make the evaluation of people who may be trapped inside basements.
 The water curtain system consist of following :-
o Pipe Network
o Water Curtain Nozzle
o Deluge Valve
o Dedicated electrical operated main & jockey pump, dedicated standby
pump (Diesel driven fire pump).
 In case of fire, the addressable head detector at the basement ceiling level shall
detect the heat and send to the fire alarm panel. The fire alarm panel shall send
the signal to the solenoid valve of the deluge valve of the respective zone. The
deluge valve shall open to speed water through curtain nozzle.

Portable Fire Extinguisher:


 Portable Fire Extinguisher shall be distributed over the area as per BIS : 2190.
 Additional extinguisher shall be provided as per the requirement of local fire
authority.
 The type of fire extinguisher installed throughout the building shall be include
but not limited to :-
o 6.0 kg multipurpose ABC chemical type fire extinguisher.
o 9.0 liter stored pressure water type extinguisher.
o 4.5 kg CO2 fire extinguisher.

Gas Modular Fire Protection System for LT/HT Panel:


 HT/LT electrical panels shall be protection through clean agent (Chemical Based)
suppression system for efficient and prompt fire suppression.
 The system consist of polymer base tubing, Novec 1230 suppressant cylinder
and custernal engineered values.
 The cylinder shall be kept near the protected area and tubing through cylinder
shall be done inside the protected panels. In case of fire inside the panel, the tube
will melt, which in turn would release the suppressant agent in to the panel
through trace tube. the fire shall be suppressed locally.
