1. PURPOSE
This document applies for using as an instruction for PACKING, MARKING AND
SHIPPING In accordance with CONTRACT.
3. SCOPE
The supplier shall prepare, pack and mark all supplies in accordance with the
present INSTRUCTION for PACKING, MARKING AND SHIPPING.
4. GENERAL
4.3. High quality wooden cases and/or crates shall be used. These should
be constructed of top quality softwood or rigid plywood and be solid and
robust for packages to be stacked in several layers. A stack load of
minimum 1 ton/m2 shall be observed.
Ends should be screwed or nailed in a manner where no sharp pieces are
exposed. Under no circumstances shall fiberboard, cardboard or similar
cartons be used as outside packing.
4.4. The Goods ready for packing must be effectively protected against
corrosion, and preserved prior to sea packing. The protection will be
determined more precisely by Supplier according to the type of Goods,

4.6. When Supplier does not perform the packing and therefore intends to
subcontract the packing, the Supplier has to inform the Purchaser and/or
PMC of the names and addresses of the Packer consulted for packing:
the Purchaser and/or PMC reserves the right to reject any of these
companies.
4.7. Felt, cellophane paper, polyester cuttings, crepe cellulose and some
equally efficient materials may be used for padding or cushioning.
Wood shaving and other paper shall not be used for padding or
cushioning.
4.8. Hay, straw or similar vegetable fibers subject to disease or fungus shall
not be used in packing.
4.9. Individual packages in bulk shall be kept as small as possible, with gross
weight not exceeding 3000 Kg and dimensions corresponding to
inside dimensions of containers (as per art. 4.4)
5.2. Contractor reserves the right to inspect the packing at any time, and to
reject it when it does not meet packing requirements.
5.3. Supplier shall be responsible for the accuracy of the declared weights,
dimensions and marking of packages. The packing list shall be in strict
conformity with the packing content.
5.5. After notification by contractor, supplier shall take immediate action for
the replacements of such missing or damaged supplies within an
acceptable time schedule, at supplier’s own cost.
5.7. Supplier shall be responsible for any loss or damage caused through
wrong marking.
6.1.6. When the packing is carried out in boxes and/or crates, the metal
or plastic corners at the slinging points shall be used.
6.1.8. If the order stipulates that the shell is be treated with anti-
corrosive and/or painted, the equipment must be handled with
particular care.
6.2.1. Small loose parts shall be tagged and packed in a separate, sturdy
wooden box. Any such box shall be shipped with main equipment
being securely attached to the main skid or within the main box.

6.2.3. Spare parts for commissioning, start-up and for 2 years operation.
Each category of spare parts shall respectively be packed in an
individual rugged wooden box, packed separately and marked: -
Commissioning, start-up (COMMISSIONING SPARES) -two years
maintenance (OPERATING SPARES)
Length: 12 meter
Width: 2.5 meter
Height: 2.5 meter
Weight: 20 Ton
8. PACKING LIST
8.1. The packing list will be prepared on contractor’s standard forms and will
show the summary of the content of each package.
8.3. Two (2) copies of the packing list in waterproof plastic envelope must be
securely nailed under a steel sheet on the outer surface of the first
package of the batch with the associated detailed item list
corresponding to the package.
The description of detailed item list of the packing list must correspond
exactly to the detailed contents of the package.
The expression “accessories for” or “batch of nuts and bolts” for
example, are formally forbidden.

8.4. One copy the detailed item list shall be placed in waterproof plastic
envelope inside of each package. Another copy in a waterproof plastic
envelope shall be placed outside of the package under a steel sheet.
8.5. Above mentioned shipping documentation shall be in English.
