Selecting Cells and Ranges: 1. Selecting A Range of Cell
To select a cell, simply click the cell. A black border surrounds it and that cell becomes
the Active Cell.
To select all the cells in a worksheet, click the Select All button at the top-left corner of
the worksheet.
To select a single row or column in a worksheet, click the corresponding row or column
selector.
A range is normally identified by the references for its first and last cells with a colon between
them.
Example: the range extending from cell A1 to cell C5 is identified as A1:C5 as shown
below.
Select a range of cells by dragging the mouse pointer over the cells. Clicking on the first
cell, it becomes the active cell. Hold down the mouse button then drag the mouse pointer
down to cell C5. Range A1:C5 is now selected.
