    Topic Selected: What does the research say about advantages and disadvantages of
    distance education?

    1. LITERATURE REVIEW: (250 Words)


    What does the literature/research say about this issue/topic? By using NAU
    Library or Online Search engines, conduct a literature review.
     You need to include 5 different sources (book, journal article, web article
    etc.) in your review. Try to use current sources as much as possible.
     You need to summarize and synthesize your sources by discussing a
    common theme or issue. 
     You don't need to critique your sources
     You don't need to evaluate your sources (if the sources are trustworthy,
    weather the author has a bias or not)
     You need to provide background information such as history and
    definitions

    Literature Review:
    According to the five articles I read, the advantages of distance education can be listed as
    follows. Participants in distance education conduct training at their own pace. This is an
    advantage for them. Because students can listen to the lessons again, stop where they do
    not understand, start the lesson and listen again. Second, those who attend training do not
    have to attend from a particular place. They can attend classes wherever they want. This
    gives them freedom. Thirdly, students can save money because they don’t have to pay for
    going to school. In addition, it is easier to interact with the teacher in live distance
    education. Questions can be answered during the live lesson. The motivation of the
    student who finds answers to his questions instantly increases. For the teacher, it may be
    easier to teach more students than usual with distance education. It is easier to manage
    students with the help of technology in the computer environment. The disadvantages of
    distance education mentioned in these articles can be listed as follows. First of all,
    students may have concentration problems because they do not study in physical classes,
    so their motivation should be constantly supported. Second, they may have to expand
    their technological equipment, which can be expensive for them. Also, the technologies
    used for distance learning might be complicated for some students participating in the
    class. Thirdly, when lessons are not live, students cannot ask questions like they do in
    face-to-face education. Even if they can ask a question by message, they cannot get an
    answer immediately.
    2. REFLECTION: (250 Words)
     What is your personal opinion on this issue? Do you agree with the
    research? If you agree or disagree, please explain why?
     Provide examples/experiences regarding this issue from school
    perspective or If you are not working in a school, from your profession. Be
    specific with your examples. You can mention software/hardware names,
    specific methods that you plan to use, etc.
